Spearheading the Swatch Group’s venture into the smartwatch industry, Tissot have unveiled their incredible new collection of Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar watches. Featuring an all-new in-house operating system, a solar powered dial, tactile technology and a remarkable list of features, this connected watch is far more than just a gadget or device, but a smart timekeeping instrument embodying Tissot’s decades of experience.
Boasting a Swiss made label, the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar has been entirely designed and manufactured in Switzerland including the new in-house developed Sw-ALPS low-energy operating system. Developed in collaboration with CSEM, the Sw-ALPS operating system appears to be a flagship of an entirely new generation of connected watches for the Swatch Group allowing the watch to be compatible with iOS, Android and Harmony OS operating systems.
All the electronic components of the T-Touch Connect Solar are also described as entirely energy efficient, with the solar powered dial equipped with the latest-generation photovoltaic cells to provide a battery life of approximately six months. According to Tissot, most wearers can get by using the watch by charging it by natural or artificial light but for heavy users of the GPS and Bluetooth features, the watch will also come with a wireless charging cradle.
Described as a “Swiss Army Knife for the wrist”, the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar comes equipped with all the essential functions of the iconic T-Touch Solar Expert including a perpetual calendar, countdown, chronograph, alarm, weather and altimeter alongside a whole range of new features such as an activity tracker and message and call notifications. These high-tech functions are displayed on an extra-legible outer MIP (Memory in Pixel) screen and accessible using an intuitive user interface of just two simple push buttons, an electronic crown and tactile glass made of scratch resistant sapphire.
Impressing not only on functionality but also style, the Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar proves it is much more than just a smartwatch device but a sophisticated timekeeping instrument for every occasion. Measuring to 47mm in size, the smartwatches are available in satin-finished titanium, black PVD titanium or rose-gold PVD titanium each with their own choice of rubber or titanium bracelets. Hypoallergic titanium is paired with ceramic on the bezel, a material recognised for its incredible durability and scratch resistance. For additional robustness, each Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar is subjected to a series of tests to ensure its ability to resist impacts, pressure and the penetration of liquids and dust, marked by the water resistant rating of 100 metres.
Expected to be released late November, the full collection of Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar watches are available to pre-order on the C W Sellors website here.
