Founded by Ariste Calame in 1882, Zodiac began as a small workshop in Le Locle, Switzerland where they began production of specialised timepieces. It wasn’t until 1908, however, that Calame patented the name Zodiac, and wristwatches under that name started production. It didn’t take long though, before the Zodiac name captured attention, with the first extra flat pocket watch housing the Zodiac 1617 movement released was in 1924 and shortly after the innovative 10.5 Ligne 8-Day wrist watch movement in 1937. One of their most iconic designs, the Zodiac Sea Wolf, was launched years later in 1953 and became known as one of the first commercial dive watches on the market. To this day, the Zodiac Sea Wolf convey the brand’s commitment to authoritative style with its thick unidirectional bezels, luxurious metal straps and luminous dial designs.
Now owned by the Fossil Group, Zodiac maintains a legacy of innovation, precision and quality to Swiss horology engineering their stunning collections of ladies’ and men’s watches with only the best movements and materials. Largely inspired by vintage models from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, every Zodiac watch tells a story from its past, maintaining a historical authenticity alongside contemporary improvements for optimal functionality.
