One of the most coveted designer jewellery makers of the year so far is Shaun Leane. Since the brand was born at the bench in London’s jewellery quarter over twenty years ago, it has succeeded in creating modern jewellery masterpieces worthy of the catwalk for the sophistications of both men and women. This year has been one of their most significant however, as founder Shaun Leane appeared on BBC 2’s show All That Glitters. His unmatchable expertise and unwavering commitment to British design has been announced to the nation and the Shaun Leane 2021 jewellery collections are certainly getting the attention they deserve.
Shaun Leane Hooked Pearl
Seasoned connoisseurs of Shaun Leane jewellery will have no doubt heard of their iconic Hook collection. Inspired by the sweeping curves and sculpted silhouettes seen in nature, each Shaun Leane Hook necklace, earring and bracelet is distinctively sensual, sophisticated and offers a hint of rebellion in its primal nature. For 2021, they have expanded the line with the new Shaun Leane Hook Pearl series which captures the ephemeral beauty of the hook and combines it with the mysterious elegance of pearl.
The Shaun Leane Hooked Pearl collection is currently home to a wide selection of earrings, necklaces and rings. Our favourite variation is that of the black rhodium and black pearl pieces which showcases a daring, modern interpretation of a signature Shaun Leane style with black rhodium plated sterling silver hooks adorned with glowing black pearls. Shaun Leane Hooked Pearl jewellery is also available in silver, yellow gold vermeil and rose gold vermeil adorned with soft freshwater pearls.
Shaun Leane Talon Diamond
Another illustrious collection by the British jewellery house, the Shaun Leane Talon is underpinned by its sculptural simplicity which like the Hook collection above takes inspiration from the sweeping curves and arched silhouettes seen in nature. The unisex jewellery range delivers a modern alternative to the classic hoop earring which for the first time in 2021, opts for clusters of dazzling diamonds.
Again, there is no shortage of Shaun Leane Talon Diamond earrings to choose from with designs available in 18 carat rose gold, yellow gold and white gold. Each set follows suit in its defiantly primal and seductive curve and differs only in its material, size and diamond cluster. On all but one, the designs feature brilliant cut white diamonds on each end of the talon while one pair of hoops stands out, crafted from 18 carat white gold and adorned in fearless black diamonds.
Shaun Leane Star Signet Ring
One of the biggest surprises of Shaun Leane’s 2021 jewellery collections was the revival of its iconic Star ring. First launched in 2011, the design was part of the brand’s Bound line and has remained one of Shaun’s personal favourites. With that in mind, he has decided to reissue the piece for a limited time in celebration of the All That Glitters show. The same multifaceted pentagonal design complete with a ridged texture inside the crevasse of a star engraving is revived in a choice of a yellow gold vermeil or sterling silver.

Shaun Leane Serpent’s Trace
Next up in the Shaun Leane 2021 jewellery collections is a selection of new additions to their Serpent’s Trace line. Since their launch, the Serpent’s Trace collection has remained one of their most captivating inspired by the meandering skeleton that lives beneath the coil of one of our world’s most fascinating creatures. The meticulously crafted chains act like gilded vertebrae and form an undulating silhouette emulating the elegant movement of the serpent’s spine. The snake’s hypnotic movement is also spectacular embodied within each piece, conforming and contorting around the skin with a mesmerising elegance.
Some of the new Shaun Leane Serpent’s Trace jewellery pieces include a choker, hoop earrings, a drop pendant, cufflinks, a long finger ring, a necklace and a wrap ring. The Shaun Leane Serpent’s Trace Long Finger ring is undoubtedly one of the coolest designs we have ever seen, utilising two bands that sit on opposite ends of the finger joined together by an uninterrupted spine. We also love the Shaun Leane Serpent’s Trace cufflinks which manipulate the undulating body of the snake around the shirt cuff to fastened together through the shirt hole. Its design is then completed by the skeleton head of the serpent with its mouth wide open.
Shaun Leane Cat Claw
Last but certainly not least is the addition of a new selection of Shaun Leane Cat Claw earrings. Just as its name suggests, this family of designer jewellery takes inspiration from the sharp curves of cat claws. Previously, the collection has was home to a choice of small half hoop earrings but now we are treated to a gorgeous range of oversized hoops with statement claws tearing their way into the centre.
The designs had already received plenty of attention across social media when Shaun Leane announced them, but when Adele was spotted wearing a pair of yellow gold vermeil Shaun Leane Cat Claw hoops on Saturday Night Live, the whole world coveted a pair. The design is currently available in sterling silver, yellow gold vermeil and black rhodium.
