Seiko Prospex Black Series Samurai Limited Edition
If you’re on the hunt for a luxury Christmas gift idea for a watch collector this festive season, cast your eyes upon this Seiko Prospex Black Series Samurai watch. The Seiko Prospex Alpinist Ginza 140th Anniversary Limited Edition honours the location with a gorgeous blue paved dial inspired by the Western style stone street paving areas in Ginza. The stunning blue-grey “Konparu-iro” colour also represents the reflections of the sky in the glass cityscape. As for the rest of the design, it pays tribute to Seiko’s legendary Alpinist sports watch with a 38mm stainless steel case, domed sapphire glass and 6R35 automatic winding movement with an impressive 72 hour power reserve.
Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series Watch
The final Seiko watch in today’s Christmas buying guide is this Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series model. The perfect daily-beater dress watch, the design is described by the brand as a “a powerful and fresh expression of Japanese artistry” due to its unusual textured dial. Coloured in a dark red which fades out to black, the dial features a Japanese Asanoha or hemp leaf pattern which holds a special importance in Japanese culture for its associations with strong growth and good health. On top, the pattern reveals pointed sword-shaped hands coated in lume and faceted applied indexes finished in a mix of matt and polished surfaces. Fuelling the hours, minutes, seconds and date is the 6R35 automatic movement with a 70 hour power reserve displayed through the sapphire crystal case back.
