Remembering Bremont co-founders Nick and Giles English’s mother and the ship built in honour of her by their father, the Bremont Solo Lady K watch collection expands to reveal a stunning new range of colourful dial designs. Four of the designs are housed within stainless steel and take inspiration from the seasons with dials adorned in Sky, Fawn, Jade and Frost. A fifth and final piece speaks to women with a penchant for opulence offering a solid 18ct rose gold case and a mother of pearl dial.
We might be bias as a British manufacturer ourselves, but Bremont have always had a special place in our hearts. The brand’s founding began after the sad passing of Nick and Giles English’s father whose own passions for aviation and precision engineering became the catalyst for the Bremont Watch Company being established in 2002. Despite being a significantly young name in a realm of century-old watchmakers, Bremont have had no trouble reminding the world that they set their time to Greenwich, not Geneva. One of their first and arguably most successful collections was the Bremont Solo, a range of durable pilot’s watches inspired by military instruments from the 1940’s. Over the years, the series has adapted, and it importantly introduced its first range of lady’s watches in 2016. A few years later and the British manufacturer aimed its sights on women again with the launch of the Bremont Hawking Quantum Ladies watch, their first ever diamond-decorated timepiece. Then last year, we were welcomed to a duo of gorgeous diamond and mother of pearl watches named the Bremont Solo Lady K watches. The designs were named after the boat hand built by their father for their mother and were a nod to their mother’s own artistic and adventurous spirit.
For 2022, Bremont extends their Lady K collection further with a new set of ladies watches including a special Solo Lady K Maya watch with a dark mother of pearl dial and a selection of Bremont Lady K Colour watches. It is the latter that we are looking at in detail today. As we mentioned in the introduction, there are five designs to choose from, four in stainless steel and one in 18ct rose gold. The cases sit on the wrist at 34mm wide and 10mm high with a screw down crown, domed sapphire crystal glass and a 100 metre water resistant rating. A true talking point, the cases of each Bremont Solo Lady K Colour watch are set with 60 white, brilliant cut 1.35mm VVS FG diamonds on the bezel. Bremont assures all diamonds used in their luxury watch collections are ethically sourced, follow the Kimberly Process and are conflict free.
As for the dial, there are five colours to choose from. Starting with the steel models, the Bremont Lady K Sky watch features a light blue dial evoking the colour of the sky during the summer months. Then there’s the Bremont Lady K Jade watch whose forest green dial is inspired by the British countryside in spring. The Bremont Lady K Fawn watch marks the beginning of the colder months with a sunray amber dial for autumn and the Bremont Lady K Frost nominates a silver-white dial designed to evoke the snow-covered hills of the Chiltern. Lastly, the Bremont Lady K Rose Gold watch stands out for its mesmerising white mother of pearl display. All the dials are set with 11 baton indexes, nickel plated for the steel models and gold for the rose gold design. These batons are then dressed in 33 claw set 0.8mm VVS FG diamonds. There’s case-corresponding fueille hands for the hours, minutes and seconds and a date window at 6 o’clock.
Powering the Bremont Solo Lady K Colour watches is the automatic winding Calibre BE-92AV. It promises a frequency of 28,800vph and a power reserve of 42 hours. You can admire the 25-jewelled movement through the exhibition case back alongside its custom decorated rotor. Finally, securing the Bremont ladies watches to the wrist is a choice of two straps, a classic stainless steel bracelet or an embossed leather strap coloured in the same shade as the dial. The Bremont Solo Lady K Rose Gold watch is available on a pink leather strap.
