Limited to just 100 pieces, the Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife watch is a UK exclusive at C W Sellors and with 6 pieces in our artillery, we have high expectations this rare timepiece will be an immediate sell out.
Throughout 2022, Frederique Constant have been celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Classics Worldtimer Manufacture watch, a design originally launched in 2012 and one that has quickly become one of their most iconic models. Already this year, the Swiss watch manufacturer launched another C W Sellors UK Exclusive Frederique Constant Worldtimer Native Edition watch which saw the legendary city disc printed with the 24 cities in 9 different languages. As expected, this release has already sold out in the UK. Following on from this is the new Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife watch, another design sold exclusively by C W Sellors in the UK and one we expect to sell out just as quicky – if not faster than its predecessor.
So what’s different for the new Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife watch? The brand celebrates the heritage of the original Classics Worldtimer manufacture model with a rare design mounted on a brown ostrich leather strap, adding a gorgeous vintage touch to the timepiece, and the very same dial found on the 2012 design. We’re also treated to the FC-718 Manufacture movement within, the in-house movement developed within Frederique Constant’s workshops also launched in 2012.
The dial of the new Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife Limited Edition watch is a personal favourite feature of ours. It stands out from all those before it (other than the 2012 original, of course) with a crisp guilloche silver centrepiece adorned with printed navy blue Roman numerals. The same navy blue tone is also utilised on the hour, minute, seconds and date hands and on the legendary 24 hour disc which borders the flange. The date subsidiary counter at 6 o’clock offers an additional refined touch with its own white sunray guilloche backdrop and as expected, the 24 cities are printed on the city disc at the dial’s edge. The Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife remains a user-friendly masterpiece with the mass of functions entirely controllable using the single crown at 3 o’clock.
The Frederique Constant FC-718 calibre is responsible for powering the Worldtimer Vintage Highlife Limited Edition, a movement which has become one of the most inventive, complex and yet user-friendly worldtimer complications in the industry. Originally launched in 2012, it has fuelled every Classics Worldtimer watch since, offering a healthy power reserve of 38 hours, 26 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. You can admire the beauty of the Swiss made calibre through the 50 metre water resistant sapphire crystal case back. Some of the classic decorations viewable include perlage and circular Côtes de Genève stripes.
While the dial and movement of the Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife watch is the main attraction, the case is still a thing of beauty. The cushion-shaped architecture features integrated lugs for a contemporary look and yet thanks to the new vintage-inspired brown ostrich leather strap, a retro personality is instantly evoked. The leather strap is closed by a matching stainless steel folding buckle and for days when a sportier aesthetic is required, you can swap over to the extra navy blue rubber strap included with every 100-piece limited edition. The case measures to 41mm in diameter and 12.9mm in height and boasts anti-reflective scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass on top and a smooth unadorned bezel.
With only 6 pieces of the Frederique Constant Worldtimer Vintage Highlife watch making it into the UK, all of which are exclusively held at C W Sellors, we don’t recommend waiting around for this one. If the previous limited editions are anything to go by, this will sell out very quickly. If you’d like to learn more about the watch and shop it for yourself, head over to the C W Sellors website here or get in touch with the team by calling 01335 453453 or send us a message at sales@cwsellors.com.
