Following the inevitably successful launch of the original Garmin MARQ back in 2019, the smartwatch brand unveils a second-generation design with the launch of the Garmin MARQ 2. The premium range of tool watches trump those before with upgrades like an AMOLED display, 16-day battery life, jet lag advisor, multi-band GNSS with SatIQ™ technology and preloaded TopoActive maps with NextFork™.
Forged from Garmin’s long-standing heritage in the aviation, automotive, marine, outdoor and sport markets, the MARQ smartwatch was launched back in 2019 with the idea of offering a luxury smartwatch design with different aspirations in mind. There was the MARQ Athlete for fitness fanatics, the Garmin MARQ Golfer for lovers of the green and the Garmin MARQ Adventurer for outdoor explorers, to name just a few. Each watch not only benefited from premium materials like titanium cases, ceramic bezel inlays and scratch resistant sapphire crystal displays but they hosted ground-breaking technologies completely unseen in the smartwatch world.
Now eclipsing its predecessors, the brand unveils the new Garmin MARQ 2 watch collection with a range of upgrades. At the moment, we’re welcomed to five designs: the Garmin MARQ 2 Athlete, MARQ 2 Aviator, MARQ 2 Adventurer, MARQ 2 Captain and MARQ 2 Golfer. Each boasts a 46mm titanium case and ceramic inlay bezel like before but with a stunning new AMOLED display protected by domed sapphire crystal glass. The display is beautifully bright with a pixel resolution of 390x390.
The new Garmin MARQ 2 watches also boast an upgraded battery life. Compared to the already impressive 12-day battery of the previous range, the new editions impress with a 16-day battery life in smartwatch mode. You’ll also get up to 21 days in Battery Saver Watch Mode, 75 hours in Max Battery GPS and up to 14 days in Expedition GPS mode.
Each Garmin MARQ 2 watch also comes equipped with several new features including a jet lag advisor which is designed to help you minimise the effects of jet leg during travel. It gives guidance on light exposure, sleep and exercise to help you maintain a good sleep pattern. There’s also preloaded TopoActive maps with NextFork™ to help you navigate trails and see beyond the next turn as well as multi-band GNSS with SatIQ™ technology for the best positioning accuracy in any environment. Alongside this, the new Garmin MARQ 2 watches continue to uphold all the ground-breaking technologies as before including music storage, Garmin Pay, wrist based heart rate monitor, preloaded activity profiles, Pulse Ox sensor, GPS and much more.
