The Fabergé Cosmic Curve Jewellery Collection

Jewellery & Watch News

We could all use a little colour in our lives, and stepping in just at the right moment, Fabergé have unveiled their stunning new Cosmic Curve jewellery line. The selection of 18 carat yellow, white and rose gold stacking rings are inspired by the belief that every gemstone on our planet, from the dazzling sapphire to the vivid emerald and the royal ruby, contain energy from one of our planets in the solar system, delivering the wearer with a dose of happiness and wellbeing.

This magical belief first originated from the Babylonians who thousands of years ago believed that precious gemstones were the patrons for a vast range of positive emotions and actions, such as health, joy and luck. It was the vivid, rich and unusual colours of the gemstones that contributed to this idea, as well as their scarcity which encouraged them to believe they were filled with magical powers. Even today, many modern wearers still consider gemstones to have healing powers and believe in their associations with special cosmic influences of their associated ruling planet.

In ancient Indian gemmological texts, it is explained how white light is composed of seven primary colours and two secondary colours blended together. The primary colours are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet; the secondary colours are ultra-violet and infra-red. As we all know, the former become visible in the shape of a rainbow whenever light is refracted through a prism or rain falls, the latter two however always remain invisible. It is these nine colours that are thought of as the cosmic matrix and are the very sense of the nine planets in our solar system. It is through each of these bright hues of colour that the planets radiate their energy and influence, delivering us a range of positive emotions.

The Fabergé Cosmic Curve Jewellery collection currently consists of seven stacking rings varying in their choice of precious metal and gemstone. One variation is spectacularly adorned in Zambian emeralds and dressed in 18 carat yellow gold while a similarly enchanting 18 carat yellow gold band features twenty round green tsavorites. Another design features 18 carat rose gold with Mozambican rubies while a fourth delivers breathtaking blue sapphires in 18 carat white gold. The last three variants are some of the most magical of all, set in a choice of white, yellow or rose gold and decorated in one white diamond, three rubies, four tsavorites and fourteen multicoloured sapphires – a rainbow of delight!

The rubies and emeralds used within the Fabergé Cosmic Curve rings have all been acquired from Gemfields, a world-leading supplier of responsibly sourced coloured gemstones. This responsible sourcing means applying industry-leading policies and practices across operations, transparency in the auction sales procedure, an active role in working groups to modernise the coloured gemstone sector, projects to improve health, education and livelihoods for the communities around the mines and conservation efforts to protect Africa’s great wildlife and biodiversity.
