Regarded as one of the most unique and inspiring luxury watch manufacturers in the world, SevenFriday create timepieces for those that live everyday like it’s a Friday, braving to break the boundaries of watchmaking traditions, throwing aside the conventional and finding victory in the unexpected.
Having only been founded in 2012, SevenFriday watches have quickly found international success with a global network in 90 countries and more than 700 points of sale around the world. Driven by a desire to create a luxury watch at an affordable price, founder of SevenFriday Daniel Niederer, believed that there were too many luxury timepieces being sold at over-the-top prices with little to show for it. He believed that it was time to create a range of unique, stimulating and accessible products at a fair price. Their brand tagline “Show me, don’t tell me” underlines exactly that.
The SevenFriday headquarters are based in Switzerland, and it is primarily here that the industrial-inspired makeup of each SevenFriday watch is conceived. After the initial idea is envisioned, the majority of the design is then set up in Asia and fitted with Japanese Made movements like the high precision Miyota calibres which make perfect companions to the obscure and unique functions found on the SevenFriday dials.
As for the exteriors of SevenFriday watches, their complex aesthetics have industrial and mechanical inspirations offering a raw and unconventional finish helped by square-shaped cases, multi-layered skeletonised dials and distressed straps. SevenFriday is also home to a range of innovations including their famous NFC chip which can be found embedded behind the globe on the case back of each watch. This chip allows you to verify the authenticity of your SevenFriday watch through the smartphone app and through all SevenFriday authorised retailers.
The first SevenFriday collection created was the P-Series. These watches begun the tradition of industry-inspired design with a unique inner casing resembling TV dial pieces from the 1970’s, overlapping complications revealing the automatic movement beneath and sporty accents as a reminder of the undying relationship between man and machine. Shortly later, the SevenFriday V-Series watch was unveiled, and it quickly became a fan favourite for its unique day and night indicator, fast strap changer and sporty aesthetic reminiscent of speedometers found on sports car dashboards.
Over the years, even more SevenFriday watch collections have appeared including the SevenFriday M Series with its more relaxed and sophisticated style for the weekend and the SevenFriday S Series designed as a nod to clean industries with recyclable animation rings and transparent bodies. There’s also the SevenFriday Q Series inspired by the industrial essence of soundboards and audio equipment and the SevenFriday T Series launched alongside a brand new range of Icon Tiny eyewear, with both the sunglasses and mechanical watches displaying the same sun lenses. All of the collections are home to permanent additions and stunning SevenFriday limited edition releases.
