To mark 10 years since the launch of the original Frederique Constant Worldtime watch, the Swiss watch manufacturer unveils a special Native 2022 Edition with a city disc printed with 24 cities in 9 different languages. The new Frederique Constant Worldtime Native Edition is also a C W Sellors exclusive in the UK and limited to 100 pieces.
First presented in 2012, the Frederique Constant Classics Worldtimer Manufacture watch filled the gap in the watch market for a luxury yet accessible Worldtimer watch. Notwithstanding of its reasonable price point, its design and technology within was some of the finest we’d seen offering cases engineered from stainless steel and 18ct gold as well as elegant dials, premium leather straps and clever manufacture movements. In celebration of the collection’s 10th anniversary, Frederique Constant have launched several iterations of its Worldtimer. Alongside two blue-dialled limited editions, one in rose gold and one in stainless steel, we’re now welcomed to a special Frederique Constant Worldtime Native Edition watch which for the first time reveals the 24 cities in 9 different languages: English, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and Brazilian.
The display of the Frederique Constant Worldtime Native Limited Edition watch is also delivered in a new colour combination, pastel blue and white. The white background presents the oceans while the blue marks the landmasses of the world. In contrast, the hardware is silvered and set with glow in the dark Superluminova. This includes rounded hour markers and sharp pointed hands for the hours and minutes. Meanwhile the seconds hand is adorned in blue to match the date indicator at 6 o’clock set against a white guilloche counter and the blue disc which displays the 24 cities.
For the case, the Frederique Constant Worldtime Native Edition 2022 watch opts for classic polished stainless steel with a standard diameter of 42mm and a height of 12.15mm. The case also presents sapphire crystal glass treated with anti-reflective coating, a water resistant rating of 30 metres and a navy blue alligator leather strap secured by a folding buckle.
Turning the Frederique Constant Worldtime Native watch over reveals another layer of sapphire crystal, this time exposing one of Frederique Constant’s manufacture movements. The calibre in question is the FC-718 automatic winding movement and allows for a three-notch system via the crown for adjusting the complication. The first winds the watch, the second changes the date (upwards) and the reference city (downwards) and the third adjusts the central display. The movement also impresses with a power reserve of 38 hours and a frequency of 28,800vph.
