Bremont Launches Armed Forces Broadsword Jet Watch

Jewellery & Watch News

Launched in celebration of the British watch manufacturer being awarded the Silver Armed Forces Covenant for all their support of the Armed Forces, the brand have launched their latest Broadsword watch. This time not in pure steel or bronze but finished in a stealthy black DLC finish. Meet the new Bremont Armed Forces Broadsword Jet…

Launched back in 2019, the Bremont Armed Forces collection was designed in celebration of Bremont’s partnership with the Ministry of Defence honouring Her Majesty the Queen’s Armed Forces. At the beginning, the series was a simple trio of timepiece named the Arrow, Argonaut and Broadsword, each unique for being the only watches in the world allowed to use the signs, symbols and Heraldic badges of the Royal Navy, British Army and the Royal Air Force. Over the years, we have seen a second iteration of the Argonaut and strangely no new adaptions of the Arrow (hopefully soon!). The Bremont Broadsword however has been at the centre of Bremont’s latest releases having transformed from a classic stainless steel piece into several patina-pending bronze models with different dial colours to choose from. Now, the design evolves once again with an all-new black DLC case.

While the classic steel Broadsword took obvious inspiration from the original ‘Dirty Dozen’ series made for the British Army during World War II and the Broadsword Bronze only further accentuated its vintage persona with a distinctive patina case, the Bremont Broadsword Jet watch offers the exact opposite with a resolutely modern finish thanks its black DLC coating. The case is satin and polished finished and MoD hardened for exceptional durability measuring in on the wrist at 40mm in diameter, the same as its predecessors. The case also comes with domed sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment, a black DLC screwed down case back engraved with the familiar Heraldic badges and a 100 metre water resistance.

Contrasting beautifully to the predominantly all-black Bremont Broadsword Jet watch is elegant accents of bronze on both the screw in crown and dial. The dial features a black metal backdrop adorned with bronze hands for the hours, minutes and small seconds. The hands are also treated to white coloured Superluminova to pair with the white luminous Arabic numerals. For subtle distinction, the rounded indexes on the sloped minutes track are similarly finished in Superluminova but this time coloured in mint-green.

Housed within the case of the Bremont Armed Forces Broadsword Jet watch is the BE-95-2AV automatic winding movement, the same Swiss made calibre we’ve seen in previous Bremont Broadsword watches. We’re treated to the same Glucydur balance, Anachron balance spring and Nivaflex mainspring alongside 31 jewels and a frequency of 28,800vph. The movement also delivers a 38 hour power reserve and has been chronometer certified. Finalising the Bremont Broadsword Jet watch is a black rubber Temple Island strap and a bronze pin buckle.
