Jewellery & Watch News
As of 1pm this afternoon, Breitling have proudly announced their latest limited edition watch series and with it, a new rugby squad dedicated to the unions that make up the Six Nations Rugby. The new Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Edition collection features six exciting new sports chronographs each adorned in the logos and liveries of their country, so no matter whether you’re cheering on England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France or Italy, there’s a Chronomat watch for you.
Breitling’s Role as Official Timekeeper to the Six Nations
Alongside the launch of the new Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Edition watch collection, the Swiss watchmaker has also revealed they are the latest Official Timekeeping partner to the Six Nations Rugby Championship which begins in just two days time. This means the luxury watch brand will be involved in timing every moment of the action – both on and off the pitch. Breitling’s role also extends throughout the season to include the Guinness Six Nations men’s championship, the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, the Autumn Internationals and the 2023 Rugby World Cup warm-up matches.
In celebration of their new role, and to help reinforce the personality of the new Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Edition watch collection, the watchmaker has also created the Breitling Rugby Squad. It’s a crew of seven players from the Six Nations who each wear their own Chronomat in tribute to their home country. The squad includes England's Kyle Sinckler, Scotland's Hamish Watson, Wales' George North, Ireland's Conor Murray; former players France's Vincent Clerc and Italy's Martín Castrogiovanni; and former Welsh international rugby union captain and presenter Sam Warburton.
The Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Edition Watch Collection
The six new sports chronograph that make up the Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Edition watch collection all maintain the signature characteristics of the iconic Breitling Chronomat. The 42mm stainless steel cases are equipped with steel unidirectional rotating bezels with four raised rider tabs, the two at the 15 and 45 minute markers remaining interchangeable. There’s also sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment, a screw down crown, exhibition case back and a water resistance of 200 metres. Each Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations watch is secured to the wrist by the highly recognisable Rouleaux bracelet.
Differentiating the Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Edition watches is the dial and the decoration included on the sapphire crystal glass back. Each three-register chronograph display is adorned in the colourway of its team, for example the dial of the Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations England watch is adorned in white with red accents, the Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Scotland watch is a dark blue and the Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Wales watch is a gorgeous deep burgundy red. You can also clearly identify the country associated with each watch by admiring the team’s logo printed proudly at the centre of the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock and on the case back.
Since these are Breitling watches after all, the performance and functionality of the Breitling Chronomat B01 Six Nations Limited Editions is top notch. Powering the central hands for the hours, minutes and chronograph seconds, date window, small seconds counter, 30 minutes counter and 12 hours counter is the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01. Created in-house by the Swiss watch brand, the movement is automatic winding and has been chronometer certified for unbeatable precision. We’re also promised 47 jewels, a frequency of 28,800vph and a power reserve of 70 hours.
