Bell and Ross BR 05 Watches Review

Jewellery & Watch News

Boasting stunning integrated bracelets, perfectly flat surfaces and new dial designs, we are overjoyed at the Bell and Ross BR 05 watches that have just landed. Having led the aviation watch market for so long, it’s exciting to see Bell and Ross appear with a new kind of instrument, one that takes on city exploration. The Swiss watch manufacturer continues to rebel against the confines of a traditional round watch and have once again invented their own unique styling with square cases presented with a perfectly rounded dial at the centre.

Still embodying the brand’s dedication to aviation, each Bell and Ross BR 05 watch promises the four essential requirements of a high performing pilots watch of legibility, functionality, reliability and precision. But we are also treated to a whole new aesthetic that we have never seen before from the brand, a construction that harks back to the 1970’s with a smooth stainless steel case that effortlessly integrates with the bracelet. And yet, this aesthetic somehow remains completely contemporary with its additions of a graphic style dial and automatic mechanical movement.

There are currently five key models within the BR 05 watch collection: three stainless steel models with a blue, black or grey dial, an 18 carat rose gold model and a limited edition skeleton watch. All these variations are then available on a stainless steel bracelet or a black ribbed rubber strap. The three Bell and Ross BR 05 Steel watches are the only ones available to order now, with the BR 05 Skeleton expected in October and the BR 05 Gold coming a little later in November.

All the Bell and Ross BR 05 watches boast 40mm cases fitted with high quality sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment and a screw down crown to assist in a water resistance of 100 metres. Each model also comes fitted with a stunning exhibition glass case back which allows you to see the intricate workings of the movement inside.  Both the Bell and Ross BR 05 Steel watches and the Bell and Ross BR 05 Gold watch are powered using the BR-CAL.321 movement which provides classic hour, minute, seconds and date function and a power reserve of 38 hours.

The Bell and Ross BR 05 Skeleton Limited Edition watch is the centrepiece to the new collection and is presented with an absolutely breathtaking skeletonised dial. Limited to 500 pieces, the model is equipped with the BR-CAL.322 automatic movement, a Swiss made calibre that is exposed beautifully through both the dial and case back and provides hour, minute and seconds function and an improved power reserve of 42 hours.

With so many dial colours and case materials to choose from, we are certain you will find a Bell and Ross BR 05 to suit you. You can order the Bell and Ross BR 05 Steel watches today for immediate delivery and pre-order the BR 05 Skeleton and BR 05 Gold for delivery in the coming months. With the skeleton model being a limited edition and the first of its kind within the collection, we don’t expect it to last long, so head over to the C W Sellors website or call us on 01335 453453 to place an order.
