Born on March 26, 1881 to a simple Italian leather goods maker, Guccio Gucci started his career as a porter at the Savoy hotel in London. Here he became infatuated with the glamorous suitcases and leather accessories that the guests arrived with and eventually, he was motivated to move back to his home city of Florence and open his own leather goods store. It wasn’t long the company expanded, both in size and in product, crafting shoes, handbags, belts and silk goods. One of the biggest changes came during the 1970’s when the designer brand launched their first range of Gucci jewellery. The original jewellery collections were timeless, easy to wear designs for the everyday handcrafted in Italy purely from sterling silver.
The same timeless and wholly modern approach to design remains the centrepiece to today’s Gucci Trademark jewellery collection characterised by stylish heart charms engraved with the Gucci trademark. The Gucci logo is engraved in large across the front of each heart motif and paired with the words “Made in Italy” to attest its quality manufacture.
The Gucci Trademark jewellery collection is currently home to four signature pieces, all worthy of being worn individually but more impressive when worn together. These include a Gucci Trademark ring, bracelet, necklace and pair of stud earrings. Starting with the Gucci Trademark earrings, these versatile pieces are designed for pierced ears and reflect the House’s romantic narrative with two 925 sterling silver heart motifs engraved with the brand’s legendary name. They measure to 11mm by 9.3mm and are completed by classic post and butterfly fastenings.
As for the Gucci Trademark necklace, the same engraved heart pendant sits centre stage but on an adjustable 925 sterling silver chain. The pendant itself measures to 1.8cm by 1.5cm while the chain can be adjusted anywhere between 45cm and 48cm. Similarly, the Gucci Trademark bracelet offers the familiar heart charm on a fine silver chain but one that is secured by a statement lobster clasp. Lastly, the Gucci Trademark ring is arguably the most statement piece in the whole collection showcases a thick 925 sterling silver band dressed in a Gucci-inscribed heart motif.
