If there was a luxury watch collection committed to the sporty and resolutely contemporary traits of the Gucci brand, it’s the Gucci G-Chrono watch collection. Defined by the iconic G-shaped bezel which evidently pays homage to the fashion House’s emblem, these designer chronographs are designed especially for trendsetters that admire performance just as much as aesthetics.
Unbeknownst to many, Gucci is placed among the top 25 Swiss watch manufacturers in the world, bringing to life their collections in the company's watchmaking atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Since the first Gucci watches were developed back in 1972, they have been entirely made in Switzerland marrying the innovation and craftsmanship of Swiss traditions with the unmistakable flair of Italian fashion. Their Swiss Made label also originates from the movements housed within which in the case of the Gucci G-Chrono watches is quartz iterations of ETA calibres. With this in mind, let’s take a look at some of our favourite pieces within the Gucci G-Chrono watch collection.
Gucci G-Chrono Watch YA101204
Lovers of classic steel chronographs will love this Gucci G-Chrono watch. Almost its entire makeup is engineered from polished stainless steel including the 44 millimetre case, G-shaped bezel, crown, chronograph pushers, case back and three-row link bracelet. Contrasting just slightly to the majority of the polished components, the inner links of the bracelet are treated to a brushed finishing. At the centre, the Gucci G-Chrono watch boasts a unique black guilloche dial with horizontal grooving and two matching black counters at the 6 and 9 o’clock positions. The latter displays a 30 minutes counter while the other is for continuous seconds. These functions alongside the central hands are powered by a Swiss made quartz movement.

For a more obviously sport finish, cast your eyes upon this striking Gucci G-Chrono watch. It delivers the very same 44 millimetre architecture as it’s steel brother above but comes with a black PVD case, bezel, crown and pushers and contrasting yellow gold PVD lugs. To match, the black guilloche dial is decorated with yellow gold hardware including slim hour markers, skeletonised and luminous hands for the hours and minutes and gold detailing on the chronograph counters. The chronograph complications are again powered by a quartz movement which is kept protected by a 50 metre water resistant rating and sapphire crystal glass. To complete this Gucci G-Chrono watch, a luxurious black calfskin leather strap is added alongside a classic folding buckle.
