Sinn U50, U50 SDR and U50 S Watches

A new mid-size U-Series diver, the Sinn U50 collection takes its name from its 500 metre water resistant case which is now only 41mm wide and 11.2mm thick. Sinn’s U-Series has for a long time become of the brand’s most unimpeachable divers’ watches but with previously larger case sizes of 44mm. Now with its reduced case size, the Sinn U50 will reach for those with slightly smaller wrists while still providing all the same remarkable diving functionality. Despite the smaller size, the watch still boasts dual-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and the Swiss Sellita SW 300-1 automatic winding calibre which provides a date display at three and a 4 Hz heartbeat.

There are three variations of the Sinn U50 to choose from, each offering the same core functionality but with different coloured bezels and straps. The standard U50 comes with a bead-blasted stainless steel case with a matching steel bezel with TEGIMENT hardening and optional TEGIMENT on the case. The U50 SDR follows a similar pattern but offers a black hard coated bezel while the U50 S tops the range with a fully black TEGIMENT hardened case and bezel. Each variation is also available on a matched steel or PVD bracelet or a red, white or black silicone strap.

Sinn 1739 St I 4N, 1739 St I S and 1739 HEIMAT Watches

Similarly to the U50, Sinn are offering a smaller size of a watch we have seen before. The Sinn 1739 range, which still takes its inspiration from elegant dress watches of the 1970’s now comes with a smaller 39mm case. It’s timeless aesthetic still beautifully illustrates the brand’s sense of tradition reinforced by the finely detailed dials available in silver, black and chequered and the slightly curved, high-quality sapphire crystal.

All three variations are powered by the SW300-1 self-winding calibre shown off through the exhibition case back, 39mm polished steel case, D3-system crown and a 100 metre water resistance. What differentiates them is their dials and straps, with the Sinn 1739 St I 4N boasting a stunning silver electroplated dial with golden hands and appliques and the Sinn 1739 St I S revealing a classic black sunburst dial with silver accents. The most interesting choice out of the three is undoubtedly the Sinn 1739 HEIMAT which tributes Sinn’s home city of Frankfurt with an intricate diamond pattern dial reminiscent of Frankfurt’s city shield and the glasses they serve their famous cider in.

Sinn 556 A RS and 556 I RS Watches

Two watches which have all the hallmarks of a classic Sinn pilots watch, the new Sinn 556 watches are destined for the cockpit with extremely legible, uncluttered dials, accentuation of the hours, minutes, seconds and the date and the high precision SW200-1 automatic winding calibre. Once again, Sinn has reinvented an iconic design we have seen before, but when a design like this is already so immaculate, can you blame them?

The two Sinn 556 variations are incredibly similar, differing only in their use of Arabic numerals or baton indexes. They both showcase 38.5mm satinized stainless steel cases, sapphire crystal on the front and case back, a screw in crown, matte black dial, hands and indices coated in Superluminova and a water resistant rating of 200 metres. You can also choose from a selection of strap options including a classic stainless steel bracelet or a vintage black leather strap with red stitch detailing to pair with the red accented seconds hand.
