According to the brand, the idea behind the Shaun Leane Rose Thorn jewellery collection derives from a shared childhood memory of Shaun Leane and his great friend, Alexander McQueen. As children, they both enjoyed the traditional fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen which explored juxtaposing themes of love, sin, death and magic. At the very beginning of Leane’s and McQueen’s relationship, when the pair worked together to create daring masterpieces for the runway in the 1990’s, these notions were captivated in famous creations like the Joan Headdress, the Porcupine Quill Ear Cuffs, the Rose Corset and Face Thorns. The latter, which saw pointed silver thorn studs placed on model’s faces, is revisited in the new Shaun Leane Rose Thorn jewellery.
Entirely evocative and yet worthy of nine to wine wearing, the Shaun Leane Rose Thorn jewellery collection boasts a wide range of designs to choose from, each daringly elegant and designed to envelope the female form. One of the most classic designs in the range is the Shaun Leane Rose Thorn Stud Earrings which capture the defiant fragility of the thorn into a single stud. To be worn asymmetrically as a lobe and helix piercing, the earrings are available in sterling silver, rose gold vermeil, yellow gold vermeil and for a more striking look, silver black rhodium.
