Is there a combination of colours more powerful than red and black? The new SevenFriday P3C/04 Red Carbon watch proves not with its sporty motor-racing inspired aesthetic that instantly incites a need for speed. Featuring a striking carbon fibre animation ring with red resin highlights, a signature multi-layered skeleton dial and a matching black and red strap made from genuine strength seat belt, this remarkable new release is guaranteed to push your ticker.
Described by the brand as “a crimson flag to a bull”, the SevenFriday P3C/04 Red Carbon has been designed especially to be your companion on the road. It’s oversized 47.6mm by 47mm case is entirely blacked out in PVD with a black carbon fibre bezel. The bezel, often referred to by SevenFriday as the animation ring, is neatly detailed with a bright red ring highlighting the cushion shape and is finished in a mix of polished, brushed and sandblasted finishing. On the right hand side of the case, a classic screw down crown is included to assist in its 100 metre water resistance and is beautifully lacquered in a red colour to compliment the rest of the design.
Showcasing pure SevenFriday DNA, the SevenFriday P3C/04 Red Carbon watch features an idiosyncratic 4-layered dial with a largely black base and sunray brushed gunmetal dial ring. Continuing the motorsport inspired design, the dial is printed with red relief highlights and white luminous coating on the hands and indexes at 12, 4 and 8 hours. Subtle yellow markers are also included at these points for a nice touch of contrast. The black stamped dial also features an arch plate with numerals at 12 and 2 made from genuine carbon fibre to pair with the matching animation ring.
Housed within the case is the automatic Miyota 82S7 automatic winding movement which boasts a power reserve of 40 hours and shows off its balance wheel through a skeletonised aperture on the dial at 7 o’clock. The mechanical calibre provides the SevenFriday P3C/04 Red Carbon watch with classic central hands for hours and minutes, an off-centred seconds dial at 4 o’ clock and a 24 hour indicator at 9 o’ clock. These features are housed beneath K1 hardened mineral crystal glass.
Even with all this remarkable technology and design, SevenFriday argue that it’s the unique strap of the SevenFriday P3C/04 Red Carbon that will truly get your heart pumping. Its unique construction is engineered from genuine competition strength seat belt material which not only promises the best in durability and robustness but provides a remarkable sporty finish to the piece. While the outer layer of strap is engineered from seat belt nylon, comfort is kept a priority with genuine black semi-matt calfskin leather added for the lining.
