Designed in collaboration with American alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin, Longines is proud to release this gorgeous Longines Conquest Chronograph Mikaela Shiffrin Edition watch. Longines have been a privileged partner of the ski world for almost a century now, remaining the Official Partner of the International Ski Federation and having become famed for their immaculate sports watches and high precision Swiss made movement used in sports timekeeping.
Mikaela Shiffrin has worked alongside Longines since 2014 as one of their Ambassadors of Elegance and in 2018, she visited Longines at its headquarters in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. It was here that the creation of the Longines Conquest Chronograph Mikaela Shiffrin Edition watch began. She decided that she wanted to create a watch that not only showcased her own taste but was inspired by the very slopes she conquered.
The Longines Conquest Chronograph Mikaela Shiffrin Edition watch is instantly noticeable for its blue aventurine dial which evokes the glitter of snow crystals as they can be found on the snowy mountains Mikaela Shiffrin skis on. The choice of blue on the dial and the bold red accents found on the five minute interval markers and chronograph seconds also represent the colours of the American flag, honouring the champion’s home country.
Measuring to 36mm in size, the stainless steel case of the Longines Conquest Chronograph Mikaela Shiffrin Edition watch is perfectly sized for both men and women. It comes fitted with a sophisticated stainless steel bracelet and a triple safety folding clasp with push piece opening for extra security and comfort. The case is also fitted with scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass treated with several layers of anti-reflective coating to provide easily legibility over the dial.
Turn the Longines Conquest Chronograph Mikaela Shiffrin Edition watch over and we are treated to a stunning closed case back engraved with Mikaela Shiffrin’s signature alongside a silhouette of her skiing. Hidden behind the case back is a high precision Swiss quartz movement which provides central hands for hour, minute and chronograph seconds, a date window at 4 o clock and two subsidiary dials for continuous seconds and 30 minutes. To compliment the steel sub dials, a large steel Arabic numeral decorates the 12 o clock position alongside Superluminova applied indexes and hands.
