Jewellery & Watch News
For their latest release, luxury Swiss watchmaker Zodiac take a look back over their illustrious heritage and catch the eye of a classic design originally launched in 1970. The Zodiac World Time watch was an emblem of international style, offering a stylish instrument for day-to-day globetrotters and world adventurers. For today’s iteration, the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time GMT targets the same wristwatch-wearer but with a new duo of displays allowing you to check and compare the time across 24 time zones simultaneously
Available in two handsome colourways, Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time GMT is not only one of the most affordable world timers we have seen but it is remarkably effortless to use. The traditional universal Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) hand is paired with a world time outer ring and a rotating bezel adorned with the names of 24 global cities. Together these features allow you to track two time zones at once. Unsure how to do this? It’s super easy, we promise. All you have to do is align the city marker on the bezel that represents your time zone with the current time on the 24 hour ring.
So other than their impressive functionality, what else do the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time GMT watches offer? Importantly, a gorgeous 1970’s personality helped by a classically simple 40mm stainless steel case, a large crown signed off by the Zodiac logo and comfortable, downturning lugs. Secured by the matching three-row link stainless steel bracelet with brushed centre links and a stepped profile, the case sits at only 13.6mm in height and offers a 200 metre water resistance helped by the screw down brushed finished case back.
The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time GMT is rendered in a choice of two colourways, the first with a vibrant red bezel, silver sunray dial and black outer 24 hour ring. The second opts for a classic black bezel, matching monochromatic matte grey dial and a white 24 scale. Both bezels tie with the 24 time zones adorned all the way around the circumference while the artistic dials follow closely in relation to previous Zodiac Super Sea Wolf watches with stick shaped hands for the hours and minutes and lollipop-styled seconds treated with glow in dark coating. An obvious addition is the red-coloured GMT hand.
Both Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time GMT watches are powered by the same movement, the Soprod C125 automatic winding calibre. Its construction is kept hidden behind the screw down case back, but we still get an impressive 42 hour power reserve, 25 jewels and a beat rate of 28,800vph.
The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time GMT watches are not permanent fixtures in the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf collection but are in fact limited edition with only a restricted number of pieces being released to the public. Both variants are limited to 500 pieces each retailing at a remarkably affordable £1,499.
