The TAG Heuer Connected remains one of the best Swiss-made luxury smartwatches on the market, and for its next generation, the brand delivers even more elegance and sporting performance with the launch of the TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre watch collection.
First unveiled in 2015, the TAG Heuer Connected smartwatch brought to life their iconic Carrera case with some of the greatest technologies from Intel and Google. Over the years, we’ve seen several editions of the Connected smartwatch including the Connected Modular series which allowed the wearer to switch the smartwatch module to an automatic mode using the same strap and lugs and last year, the TAG Heuer Connected 45 which introduced a new wrist based heart rate monitor, dial designs and some new wellness, swimming and running apps. Combining all of that new technology into a series of 45mm and 42mm designs is the freshly launched TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre watch collection.

What’s New on the TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre Smartwatch?
Without a doubt, one of the biggest differences between the previous Connected watches and the new TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre is the case profile. There’s a new 42mm model that has an even more sophisticated look than before featuring a beautifully slender finish, sleek lugs, a thinner bezel and ergonomic steel pushers. Some of the references also feature a gorgeous H-link stainless steel bracelet fully integrated into the design. As for the 45mm models, the case is still very much a Carrera but with some re-designed features including a strong ceramic bezel and integrated lugs and straps. The crown of the 45mm TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre watches also ensures a large diameter so you can easily adjust any settings using just a fingertip.
Customisation has always been a huge selling point of the TAG Heuer Connected and for the new series of Connected E4 Calibre smartwatches, that becomes even more viable. There’s a larger variety of straps to choose from including leather and steel bracelets for a more refined look as well as several multi-coloured rubber straps for a sporty finish. The new TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre watches also introduce several new watch faces to highlight some of the many features in the Connected universe. There’s still classic watch faces like the famous Carrera Skeleton and Chronograph as well as a new ‘Riverside’ watch face with an immersive futuristic effect and a ‘Wellness’ watch face which offers information on exercise direct from the watch’s home screen, such as live heart rate and the number of steps that was taken that day. You can also find new digital features added to the watch faces including a five-hour weather forecast, wellness and calendar information.
As we expected, TAG Heuer have also equipped the new Connected E4 Calibre smartwatches with all their latest sports features so you can always keep on top of your fitness. There’s several sports apps for indoor and outdoor running, cycling, swimming, golf and walking as well as a new guided workout feature. The latter is built for on-the-go users so you can stay fit, even when your smartphone isn’t nearby, and includes pre-set workout lengths and customisable programmes. You’ll also get on-screen animations, clear instructions and the watch will vibrate when your set is finished and its time to move onto the next one.
Both the 42mm and 45mm TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre watches also come with a new concept charger. The charger not only acts as a stylish stand, so you can display your watch proudly in any room of the house, but it also charges your watch in the background giving you a battery percentage, so you know exactly when its ready to wear again. During the night, the stand also glows with a discreet light and displays the time.
Speaking of battery life, the TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre smartwatches also deliver an improved battery life compared to the previous generation. The 45mm model has a 30% longer charge than the original Connected watches offering a full day of battery life even with five hours of using the golf functions. For the smaller 42mm model, you can enjoy a full day using the wellness app before you’ll need to place it on the fancy charging stand.
Some other new features found on the TAG Heuer Connected E4 Calibre smartwatch include a new screen with better contrast and readability, especially outdoors, Bluetooth 5.0 for twice the speed in synchronisation and a new altimeter function which uses your location to track your outdoor activities. You can also expect to find all the classic sensors including accelerometer, heart rate monitor, compass, and GPS as well as the latest Wear OS by Google.
