The Fabergé Rococo Jewellery Collection

Jewellery & Watch News

Today we wanted to take a look at one of Fabergé’s greatest creations, their Rococo jewellery collection. First launched in 2014, the series is home to an abundance of bejewelled masterpieces including stunning statement diamond rings, elegant pendants, multi-coloured egg charms and opulent solid gold earrings.

What is Rococo style?

Just as its name suggests, the Fabergé Rococo jewellery collection celebrates rococo style with bold shapes, iconic scroll motifs and sumptuous jewels. For those unfamiliar with the rococo style, it was widely seen in decorative arts, paintings, architecture, sculptures and interior design originating in Paris during the early 18th century. It was largely characterised for it’s exuberant use of curves and arches which would elegantly mould its way around statement imagery and ornamentation. The word “rococo” suitably derives from the French word rocaille which describes a shell covered rock, hence the curling of rococo style.

The Fabergé Rococo Jewellery Collection

Now you know what inspires the Fabergé Rococo jewellery collection, you can fully appreciate the visual magnificence of each design which wonderfully contours around the body. Interestingly, Fabergé also released an egg in rococo style during the 18th century appropriately named the Rocaille Egg. Its masterful exterior was beautifully embellished in gold curls and curves as well as several scroll motifs. It is these very shapes that are revived in Fabergé Rococo jewellery.

In typical Fabergé fashion, it isn’t only the brand’s heritage that is encapsulated with the Fabergé Rococo jewellery collection but their modern-day innovations including hand-enamelling and application of coloured gemstones. The Fabergé Rococo pieces are adorned in an unmissable array of gemstones from diamonds to sapphires, spinels to emeralds which together bring to life a world of colour through swirls and curls.

One of our favourite pieces in the Fabergé Rococo jewellery collection is the Rococo Lace Diamond ring. It’s sensual construction elegantly curves around the finger and sparkles endlessly thanks to the 294 round white diamonds set within the 18 carat gold. In total, the diamonds weight in at 1.52 carats. Another popular design is the Rococo Enamel charms which showcase stunning openwork detail set with a choice of white enamel, pink enamel, red enamel or purple enamel. Measuring in at 14mm, the charms allow you to play with Fabergé’s signature egg design in a number of ways; you could collect them on a charm bracelet or wear them alone on a matching rose gold necklace.
