Jewellery & Watch News
The world of Fabergé has always been one of colour, detail and surprise and in celebration of the former, the Maison launches their Colours of Love jewellery collection as part of their ‘Life of Colour’ campaign. The necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets celebrate the beauty of coloured gemstones which are responsibly sourced from Gemfields’ mines in Zambia and Mozambique.
Back in March of 2021, Fabergé announced they were joining forces with Gemfields, a world-leading supplier of responsibly sourced gemstones. Shortly after, the Fabergé Colours of Love jewellery collection was launched featuring the likes of Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds. The two Gemfields mines, the Montepuez Ruby Mine in Mozambique and the Kagem Mine in Zambia, are industry leaders in their practices, ensuring their gemstone sourcing benefits the nations and the communities that surround them. To date, proceeds from Gemfield’s emerald and ruby auctions have facilitated the provision of schools, mobile health clinics and projects to establish improved livelihoods for thousands of families.
In support of this, the Fabergé Colours of Love jewellery collection uses gemstones from these very mines as well as metals comprising of Peruvian mined gold ore which contains no mercury. This again helps ensure their jewellery is environmentally sustainable and guarantees complete traceability across the supply chain. Not only do these breathtaking coloured gemstone jewellery pieces look spectacular, but they enforce positivity and gemstone conservation.
The Fabergé Colours of Love jewellery collection is filled to the brim with bold, colourful designs for every type of wearer. Some of our personal favourites are the Colours of Love Sacha jewellery pieces which dazzle and surprise with their egg-shaped silhouettes. Colours gemstones outline 18 carat gold egg pendants, bracelets and earrings with gorgeous open-worked detail for a contemporary look.
Another popular series within the Fabergé Colours of Love line-up is the Colours of Love Cosmic Curve jewellery collection. These gorgeous stacking rings are inspired by the belief that every gemstone on our planet contains energy from one of the planets in our solar system. This belief first originated from the Babylonians who alleged that precious gemstones were the patrons of positive emotions and energy. As such, the Fabergé Colours of Love Cosmic Curves rings are designed to radiate the same positive influence onto their wearer, dressed in quality sapphires, rubies and emeralds.
For avid collectors of fine jewellery, you may want to set your sights on two rare and limited edition pieces in Fabergé Colours of Love jewellery collection. One an objet and another a pendant, both were launched as part of the brand’s 180 year anniversary. The Fabergé Colours of Love 180 Egg Objet is a miniature masterpiece, delivering fluted decoration across its 18 carat rose gold egg design. Down the centre, a delicate row of small Gemfields rubies adds colour and sparkle and pairs with the two glowing cabochon rubies placed on opposing sides. Similarly, the Fabergé Colours of Love Fluted Egg Pendant delivers the same uniform fluting across its 18 carat rose gold setting with a single Gemfields Mozambican ruby on its base and white diamonds on the bail.
