Exploring Damasko Watches

Jewellery & Watch News

It was an irrevocable passion for watchmaking that began the ground-breaking production of Damasko watches, a passion risen out of the desire to create a range of mechanical timepieces that were not only striking on the wrist but were completely robust, accurate and required very little maintenance. The German watch manufacturer has always been focused on the technical prowess of their timepieces above anything else, and this same philosophy that was determined back in 1994 remains the centrepiece to every Damasko watch today.

The development of Damasko watches first started out with a patent for hardenable stainless steels. Damasko stainless steel is now approximately four times harder than your average watch case and is crafted by the same people who develop materials used in Space Shuttle fuel pumps, jet engine turbine bearings and helicopter rotors. This revolutionary material also has an ability to withstand to loads of 9G, temperature changes from -40C to +54C and is highly resistant to scratches. Today, the family run brand have more than 100 patents which have only further improved the resilience and functionality of their watches.

Damasko is also behind a range of incredible in-house manufacture movements. Their first was released in 2019 and named the A 35 and allowed the German manufacturer to rise to the elite circle of genuine watchmakers. This movement has since been joined by many others including the H35 calibre, a manual winding movement with a three-wheel appearance at the rear that immediately stands out through any open case backs. The further developments of these two movements have produced a production depth of up to 90 percent with the Damasko manufacture watches, which is something truly remarkable in the industry today.

There are a huge range of Damasko watches to choose from each boasting their own unique monochromatic aesthetic and exquisite functionality. With such an array of models to choose from, let’s not waste any more time and get stuck into all the latest Damasko watch collections…
