Exploring Graham Watches

Jewellery & Watch News

Fierce, fantastic and fascinating, Graham watches step out of the box of traditional watchmaking and go beyond it like never before. The independent watch manufacturer is inspired by a rich history that dates back to 1695, a time when watchmaking was still in its infancy. George Graham was a British clockmaker, inventor and geophysicist who honours the brand with his name, a gentleman known for designing many remarkable instruments during his career. One of these valuable technologies was a 28-day duration longcase regulator with a deadbeat escapement released in 1745.

The same innovation and attention to detail that George Graham put into each of his inventions is applied to every Graham watch that you see today. While still representing their British heritage, Graham watches house exquisite Swiss made movements with many of their watch components manufactured in their own production facilities in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, the watchmaking capital of the world. The Graham Chronofighter watch collection is their most iconic design of all, famed for its statement lever on the left side of the case inspired by the watches worn by pilots during World War II. Flying officers would often have stopwatches strapped over the bomber jackets and the left-hand side lever would make it easy for the aviators to make time measurements with one hand.

As well as the Graham Chronofighter, we are treated to a huge range of Graham watches. Let’s take a look at all their latest releases in more detail…

Graham Swordfish Watches

A truly unorthodox chronograph, the Graham Swordfish watch boasts an aesthetic inspired by the migratory predator that prowls our oceans. Its unconventional design is overpowered by two 20% magnifying glasses over the hour and minute counters that stare back at the wearer like a pair of onlooking eyes while the gorgeous textured straps instantly remind us of the scales found on the swordfish. The Swiss watchmaker also recently revealed a brand new Graham Swordfish Lovelife watch, a timepiece honouring the Lovelife program designed to take care of vulnerable children and their families with cancer, autism, Down syndrome and other pathologies.

Graham Chronofighter Grand Vintage Watches

Inspired by military aviation history from the 1940’s, the Graham Chronofighter Grand Vintage watch collection boasts the brand’s famous Chronofighter aesthetic with some vintage touches. The 47mm cases are paired with a larger sized date aperture and a stunning range of straps from calfskin leather to sporty rubber. These proud, statement instruments are the time capsules that connect yesterday to today, providing all of us modern-day watch wearers with a glimpse into history.

Graham Chronofighter Vintage Watches

Showcasing the same vintage touches as the Grand Vintage collection, the Graham Chronofighter Vintage watches come at a slightly smaller size with 44mm cases. These stunning pilots instruments are still overcome with the statement left side lever and crown but dress the wrists of those looking for something subtler. We also love the Graham Chronofighter Vintage GMT watch which prepares all avid travellers with a second time zone thanks to a large arrow-shaped GMT hand and a 24 hour scale ceramic bezel.

The case, trigger, bezel, dial and buckle are all crafted from scratch resistant superlight black carbon composite, a material that is made using a highly complex and advanced machining process. Graham Chronofighter Prodive Watches

Swapping the skies for the oceans, the watch manufacturer released the Graham Chronofighter Prodive watch back in 2012 as a limited edition. Nevertheless, its success won it a permanent position in the collection, and it has since become an iconic luxury divers watch for both professional and amateur divers. Thanks to the patented mono-pusher chronograph system, two colours of radiation-free luminescent indications and an automatic helium valve, each Graham Chronofighter Prodive watch is water resistant to an incredible 2,000 metres so you never feel restricted to the depths you can go.
