Bremont Launches Limited Edition MBII King Charles III Watch

Jewellery & Watch News

This weekend, the whole of Great Britain united to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort. As a British-based watchmaker, it is no surprise that Bremont joined in the festivities by launching a duo of new timepieces in honour of the coronation. The new Bremont MBII King Charles III Limited Edition watches include one sold-out reference with a white dial and a 100-piece limited edition with a black display still available to order on the C W Sellors website.

For several years now, Bremont have been honouring the royal family with several special designs. For starters, their Armed Forces collection marks their long-standing partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and His Majesty’s Armed Forces, creating Dirty Dozen-inspired watches like the Arrow, Argonaut and Broadsword. Bremont have also presented several members of the royal family with their own bespoke Bremont timepieces such as Prince Phillip, who was given a Bremont pocket watch as part of the late Queen’s Diamonds Jubilee celebrations in 2011. Bremont also joined the King’s Coronation flypast display this weekend with Bremont watches adorning the wrists of many pilots involved.

Bremont Co-Founder Giles English comments: “As a business we’ve been hugely honoured to be the sole luxury watch manufacturer for His Majesty’s Armed Forces since 2019 and have received various Royal commissions over the years. We’re thrilled to be celebrating the Coronation with these incredibly special timepieces and it’s lovely to see how well they have been received.”

Their latest work in honour of the royal family comes in the form of two Bremont Martin Baker “MB” watches. The first was launched almost two weeks ago, a limited edition of 50 pieces with a white dial and a special screw down case back engraved with the official King Charles III Coronation Emblem. After this piece sold-out in just a matter of hours, the British watchmaker launched a second Bremont MBII King Charles III watch. This one showcased all the same specification as the first but with a classic black metal dial limited to 100 pieces.

The case of the new Bremont MBII King Charles III Black Limited Edition is engineered using the brand’s Trip-Tick case construction from durable stainless steel. It measures to 43mm in diameter and 14.5mm in height and comes with a handsome black knurled barrel and a patented inner bi-directional Roto-Click® bezel which can be operated by turning the crown at 4 o’clock. The crowns are screw down, like the case back, to ensure a 100 metre water resistant rating and sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment is used for protection of the dial.

While the Bremont MBII King Charles III Black watch may look like your average Martin Baker design at first, it includes some subtle decorations to commemorate the King’s coronation. The most obvious is the case back which is beautifully engraved with the official King Charles III Coronation Emblem. This matches with an exclusive commemorative coin that is gifted with every Bremont watch purchase for the month of May whilst stocks last. The black metal dial also stands out for its unique, purple-coloured seconds hand designed to mimic the royal colours associated with the coronation.

The rest of the Bremont MBII King Charles III Limited Edition’s dial follows suit to previous MB models, ensuring easy legibility with large white Arabic numerals, Superluminova coated hands for the hours and minutes and a sloped black minutes track. Powering the hours, minutes, seconds and date function is the modified BE-36AE automatic winding movement which is chronometer certified and delivers a 38 hour power reserve. The movement is placed within an anti-shock movement mount and an inner soft iron antimagnetic Faraday cage to protect the movement from magnetic fields and harsh shocks. Completing the Bremont MBII King Charles III Black Limited Edition is a black calfskin leather strap with black stitching and a stainless steel pin buckle.
