Unveiled yesterday during the brand’s second ever Summit Webcast, the new Breitling Professional Endurance Pro collection is being described as the ultimate athleisure watch for professional sportsmen and athletes. Combining lightweight Breitlight cases, SuperQuartz movements and a variety of colourful straps, the new line of sports tool watches may just be their best yet.
Last year the Swiss watch manufacturer revealed one of their latest “Squads on a Mission” with the Breitling Triathlon Squad consisting of Jan Froderno, Chris McCormack and Daniela Ryf. These three multiple Iron Man World Champions were chosen for their extraordinary range of talents and their incredible performances in a number of disciplines. Like Breitling, the trio have reached the pinnacles of their professions and have an unwavering passion for sport, adventure, and execution. The Breitling Triathlon Squad proudly promoted the new Breitling Professional Endurance Pro watches in yesterday’s Summit, praising their lightweight cases, accurate movement, and stunning choices of colour.
It’s fantastic to see Breitling taking a step further into the world of sport, having already conquered every other environment with their pilots, divers and dress watches. Like their other collections, the Breitling Professional Endurance Pro remains distinctively modern yet with some subtle nods to the brand’s remarkable history. The design of Breitling Professional Endurance Pro takes inspiration from a 1970s Breitling watch known as the Spring. It combined a pulsometer with a lightweight resin case that was contrived especially for athletes that needed to check their heart rate on something comfortable and lightweight. You can see the 70’s inspiration through the retro choice of colours available on the Breitling Professional Endurance Pro which can be ordered in red, white, blue, orange or yellow.
Similarly, to the historic Breitling Spring, the Breitling Professional Endurance Pro watches are engineered to be incredibly lightweight on the wrist. The 44mm cases are crafted from their iconic Breitlight material known for being is 3.3. times lighter than titanium, 5.8 times lighter than steel, nonmagnetic, thermally stable, hypoallergenic, and totally scratch proof. It also has a touch that is warmer than metal and showcases a slightly textured effect that brings a true originality to the design. Housed within the cases is another in-house innovation, the Caliber 82 SuperQuartz movement which delivers exceptional precision and has been COSC certified to -4 to +6 seconds per day.
The smooth black dials of each Breitling Professional Endurance Pro watch are available with a choice of coloured accents which match the rubber or ECONYL textile strap. For optimal legibility, Superluminova decorates the central hands for hours and minutes and the large Arabic numerals around the edge. We are also treated to a steeply sloped pulsometer chapter ring brightly illuminated in colour, red coloured chronograph seconds hand, two chronograph counters for 30 minutes and 12 hours and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.
