Jewellery & Watch News

Since its launch in 2021, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF watch collection has set the standards for luxury integrated sports watches, offering elegant d’orge guilloche dials, fluted bezels, tear-drop shaped lugs and integrated bracelets. As expected, the Swiss watchmaker’s Watches & Wonders 2023 showcase revealed several new releases for the collection including some familiar faces in new colourways and entirely brand-new technologies.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante Watch
For us, the star of the Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 collection was the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante watch. Why? Because the design introduces a world-first complication that allows the wearer to set the additional minute hand in one minute or five minute increments to act as a reminder for an upcoming event. The concept is based upon the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante watch from last year’s Watches & Wonders which similarly boasted two superimposed hands for reading two time zones. The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante watch presents the two minutes and single hour hand on a gorgeous sand-grey grain d’orge hand-guilloché dial within a 40mm stainless steel case. All the elements of the Tonda PF watch are there including the platinum hand-knurled bezel, integrated bracelet and sapphire crystal glass. Powering the watch is the automatic winding calibre PF052 with a 48 hour power reserve.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Rose Gold Watch
As mentioned above, Parmigiani Fleurier launched their inaugural Tonda PF GMT last year, creating another world-first timepiece that used two superimposed hour hands for reading two time zones. This original model was launched in classic stainless steel but now for an even more opulent finish, we’re welcomed to the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Rose Gold watch. The 18ct rose gold still measures to 40mm in diameter and pairs its case with a knurled 18ct gold bezel and an 18ct gold crown with an integrated pusher for controlling the GMT Rattrapante complication. The case beautifully contrasts against a Milano blue dial with the same grain d’orge hand-guilloché decoration and houses the automatic winding calibre PF051 offering a 48 hour power reserve. Completing the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Rose Gold watch is an 18ct rose gold integrated bracelet.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Full Platinum Watch
Next up in the Parmigiani Fleurier Watches & Wonders 2023 collection is another design we’ve seen before, the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor, but this time the original stainless steel architecture is swapped out for one of pure platinum. The entire 40mm case, knurled bezel, crown, tear-drop lugs and integrated bracelet is engineered from the precious metal for a sophisticated, lightweight and hypoallergenic finish. The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Full Platinum watch also takes its name from its incredibly thin movement working inside, which measures to only 3mm tall, allowing the case of the watch to sit at only 7.8mm high on the wrist. The design debuts a new platinum dial with delta-shaped hands for only the hours and minutes powered by the automatic winding calibre PF703 with a 48-hour power reserve.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon Milano Blue Watch
For those that want some haute horlogerie mixed in with their integrated sports watch will enjoy the new Milano blue version of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon. Once again, we’re treated to a streamline case measuring to 42mm in diameter and engineered from platinum with a knurled platinum bezel, integrated platinum bracelet and a 100 metre water resistance. The star of the show, however, is the flying tourbillon complication positioned at 7 o’clock mesmerising its wearer with its tastefully grained cage and mirror polished screws that shimmer as it regulates the automatic winding calibre PF517. The movement can also be admired through the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon Milano Blue watch’s exhibition case back and enjoys a weekend-proof 48 hour power reserve. The tourbillon feature is set upon a matte sandblasted Milano blue display with two delta-shaped hands for the hours and minutes.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold Watch
Last but not least, Parmigiani Fleurier have presented another Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph for Watches & Wonders 2023 this time pairing the 18ct rose gold architecture with a beautiful crisp white dial. The 18ct rose gold case measures to 42mm in diameter and showcases the iconic knurled bezel, large crown and tear-drop shaped chronograph pushers alongside a matching 18ct rose gold integrated bracelet. There’s also the same 100 metre water resistance and sapphire crystal glass for protection of the new white display. On the dial, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold watch presents three recessed subsidiary counters for the small seconds, 12 hours and 30 minutes powered by the automatic winding house calibre PF361 with two column-wheels and a high-frequency movement beating at a rate of 5Hz.
