A Closer Look at TAG Heuer’s 2025 Newness

Jewellery & Watch News

Unsurprisingly, TAG Heuer’s recent rekindling of its partnership with F1 has defined the many watches released as part of its Watches & Wonders 2025 offerings this year. But before we get into the new F1 goodness, let’s take a look at what else the Swiss watchmaker has in store for us over the next few months, namely the Carrera newness and what it means for avid collectors.

The Carrera Day-Date with a New Movement

Before now, the Carrera Day-Date had always been a solid, beautifully engineered sports watch, but it offered a rather pedestrian 38 hours of power reserve thanks to a tried and tested Sellita movement. Whilst there’s nothing particularly wrong with that, TAG Heuer has kitted out the new Day-Date models with a new engine to boot. The movement has been engineered in collaboration with Sellita AMT and goes by the name of the TH31-02 from a series of movements we’ve already seen in the Aquaracer before now. This new Carrera Day-Date movement puts out an impressive 80-hour power reserve along with several examples of elevated decoration that you can enjoy through the rear of the watch case via an exhibition caseback crafted from sapphire crystal.

These new TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date watches come in four new dial colours – all featuring 41mm stainless steel cases. One model that stands out, in particular, is the smoky red variation, yet classic-looking iterations are found in the black-grained and black opaline dials and a somewhat sportier sunray blue option. The black-grained model sets itself apart with luxurious rose gold-coloured hour markers and hands, which TAG Heuer chooses to pair with a two-tone rose gold and stainless steel metal bracelet.

The Carrera Twin Time in Teal

If the thought of the smoky red and sunray blue dials of the Day-Date collection excites you, you’ll love the new Twin Time watch from the Carrera range, brought to you in entrancing teal tones. But that’s not all; the watch also gets a new movement upgrade. The Calibre TH31-03, also from Sellita AMT, features an 80-hour power reserve but can track two time zones simultaneously. The combination of the time tracking features, primed for regular travel, and the captivating shades of the teal dial certainly present a strong case for a 2025 GADA watch. This is the type of timepiece you want to wear to every occasion, especially if you want to get noticed for rocking a true classic on an unusual dial shade. The watch features a three-link stainless steel bracelet and a 24-hour inner bezel characterised by white and black hues to separate daily hours from evening hours.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraphs

OK, so the bit that many of you have been waiting for – details on the new Formula 1 watches of 2025. The new Formula 1 watches mark the return of F1 racing to TAG Heuer’s catalogue. If you remember the Kirth watch collection, you’ll know the design was an instant sell-out. They leaned strongly on the design language of the original Formula 1 watch, even going as far as to offer a compact 35mm diameter. Three of those 9 iterations were limited editions powered by quartz movements, just like their 1986 ancestors. However, the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph watches combine their racing-ready aesthetics with solar-powered technology.

It’s a fantastic upgrade for the Formula 1 watch line, enabling each watch to run up to 10 months on a full charge without any additional light source. Even better, it doesn’t matter whether the watch is exposed to natural daylight or artificial light. These new solar-powered TAG Heuer watches will charge regardless. The addition of solar-powered watches means new case dimensions, bumping the steel and polyamide cases of these new Formula 1 watches up to 38mm in diameter. Still, the models wear relatively small on the wrist, albeit with a slight drop in water resistant rating from 200M to 100M. It’s unlikely any TAG Heuer watch fans will be complaining about that, though. These watches come in a choice of yellow, green, black, or blue bezel colours and, in some cases, are crafted from stainless steel, steel DLC, and polyamide, along with dial colours in black, white, or blue.
