About SevenFriday Watches

SEVENFRIDAY watches stand out for their futuristic, industrial inspired designs which present the time on a unique display. The company, which was founded in 2012, manufactures each timepiece with high end finishes. The case of a SEVENFRIDAY watch is squared with rounded edges for a wholly contemporary look. These watches, with their eye catching aesthetics, sparked attention throughout the luxury watch industry when the company first launched, with models from each series becoming highly collectable and sought after. SEVENFRIDAY watches are powered by Japanese Miyota movements, which are housed within confident, broad and often domineering case designs. The dial of every watch is layered to create a sandwich effect, many of which are characterized by industrial themed discs that replace the traditional central hands seen in a conventional wristwatch.

SEVENFRIDAY also manufactures round cases with square edges that are given the name squround. Animation rings are crafted from materials that include rubber, nylon or carbon. Other watches made by the independent brand are integrated with SEVENFRIDAY’s Fast Strap Changer mechanism, which enables the wearer to switch the band over on a watch by simply pressing the pushers on the case at 8 and 10 o’clock. In some designs, SEVENFRIDAY equips the watch with unconventional time displays that show the time on what is called an additional principle. Only part of the usual time is displayed. In these designs, the wearer adds the hours marked from 0 to 4 with the numbers shown in a central disc to calculate the time. Many watches also feature an NFC chip below their movement to pair with smartphone apps.

The very first SEVENFRIDAY watch was the P-Series presented in three variants. This first model launched not long after the company’s birth year and was instantly met with resounding success, particularly for its off the wall design and striking look. Founders, Swiss born entrepreneur, Daniel Niederer and designer, Arnaud Duval worked together to create the design that would represent the brand’s most important values. Before that, the two founders had been planning the launch of the company for three years prior. The SEVENFRIDAY name would be synonymous with boldness and determination. The debut P-series was so successful it became a core collection and still remains in production today. The case shape of the P-Series was based on a 1960s TV and paved the way for models of the Q-Series. With a decentralised 24 hour sub dial sitting inside a rounded case, the watches from the SEVENFRIDAY Q-Series launched in 2016 were the first to feature a date window.

Just 12 months later, SEVENFRIDAY released the S-Series of watches. The collection is home to some Limited edition models also. The S2/01 Essence watch is inspired by the recycling industry and features a recycled nylon animation ring that offers a view into the performance of a Miyota movement fitted inside. The S1/02 Revolution is the other half of the S-Series collection and is inspired by the Second Industrial Revolution. When the V-Series launched it was the first to be equipped with SEVENFRIDAY’S NFC chip technology in 2015, enabling the wearer to authenticate the watch with Android based software. Limited edition SEVENFRIDAY watches from the S-Series include the S3/01 and S3/02 models crafted from carbon which launched in 2018. In the same year, the M3/01 SEVENFRIDAY watch from the company’s M-series was unveiled with a real analogue display as opposed to the comprised discs for the hours, minutes and seconds. Similarly designed is the M1B/01 watch, which boasted a design inspired by industrial elements and contemporary architecture and featured an innovative hour and minutes disc.

Capable of communicating a unique design language with each new design, it is easy to appreciate the desirability of a SEVENFRIDAY watch and its unusual presence on the wrist. These dynamic, futuristic watches add something entirely one off to any collection. Today, SEVENFRIDAY continues to build on its most popular lines having penetrated over 80 countries with its eye catching timepieces inspired by engines, wheels and machines. These watches combine high quality finishes with extraordinary designs whilst remaining affordable within the luxury watch industry.
