About Garmin Fenix 6 Watches

Described as the face of adventure, the Garmin Fenix 6 watch collection is home to a series of functional, robust and technical timekeeping devices that combine precision with modern day needs. It follows on from the Fenix 5 series and combines solar powered technology with innovative materials like Power Glass used for converting the sun’s natural light into a power source for the watch. Garmin Fenix watches have become a flagship in the brand’s portfolio, the 6 series offers the collector extended time on the wrist, as well as a device that can be used for training, colour mapping and music streaming among many more activities. Popular models from the Fenix 6 series of Garmin watches include the 6S and 6X designs.

Garmin was founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min H. Kao, originally going by the name ProNav until its founders decided to combine their names to create the Garmin label. Originally founded in Kansas, US, Garmin originally began creating GPS devices for the marine industry followed by handheld navigational devices such as the GPS III for the US military in 1997. Shortly after this, Garmin partnered with AirCell to create technology for the aeronautics field. Garmin’s innovative technology enabled wearers to track their location whilst out at sea, on dry land or whilst in the air.

2003 marked a prominent year for Garmin in that it created its first line of wristwatches. What made the brand stand out was its robust, dynamic and modern-looking wristwatches that combined the concept of timekeeping with running equipment. They soon became the watch of choice for runners, hikers, mountain climbers, explorers and travellers, not to mention avid sports enthusiasts, swimmers and bikers. Garmin 201 and 301 watches would gather training information and measurements, enabling the wearer to track their running and fitness levels. Heart rate, performance, activity and calories burnt could also be monitored.

Leading on from its former 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 series, the Garmin Fenix 6 watch, once again, combines GPS trackers with features like thermal shock resistance and water resistance, making it a first choice for competing swimmers and water sports fans. Teamed with materials like sapphire glass fronts with anti glare technology, DCL coated bezels and lightweight titanium case constructions, these watches provide unique features that include a power manager, advanced sleep monitoring, battery energy monitor, heart rate tracker, performance metrics, PacePro technology and hydration tracking to name just a few.

Designed to go wherever the wearer wishes to go, our extensive range of Garmin Fenix 6 watches here at C W Sellors are equipped to face any challenge. Innovative GPS and solar powered engineering is clearly the way forward for smartwatches, suggesting that more exciting and innovative models in this field of Garmin’s expertise are sure to follow in the near future.
