For over 150 years, the International Watch Company, otherwise known as IWC Schaffhausen, has remained one of the world’s leading luxury watch brands with a prowess for combining supreme precision with a breathtaking design flair. The history of IWC watches began in 1868 when Florentine Ariosto Jones, an American engineer and watchmaker, travelled to Switzerland with a plan to combine the traditional craftsmanship of the Swiss with modern technology from overseas.

Inspired by a story from the 1930’s when two Portuguese gentlemen requested a wristwatch with the precision of marine chronometer, the IWC Portugieser family has become a staple of luxury design, housing the brand’s premium in-house movements and elegant dial designs elevated by hand-finishing, polishing and domed sapphire crystal glass.
