Playing around with different case metals and dial colours has always been Bell & Ross’ forte, and with the new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze watch, they might have just landed on a new staple. The combination of the bronze case and opaline silver dial is a sight to behold, looking warm and comforting in appearance while maintaining an aggressive list of impressive dive specifications.
The first BR 03-92 Diver Bronze watch from Swiss watchmaker Bell & Ross came in 2018 with a traditional black dial and has since been re-done in several brilliant colourways. There was the green edition of 2019, the blue dial of 2020 and the unexpected red dial of 2021. Last year, we fell in love with the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Bronze Brown watch which paired its warm bronze case with a mouth-watering chocolate-coloured display. Just when you think there’s no more colours to apply, Bell & Ross then launch the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze watch which may just be our favourite edition yet.
For us, the beauty of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze watch comes from its dial. That’s probably because we’ve seen the case several times already, but there really is something truly specular about this display. Bell & Ross call the dial “white” but it is definitely more pearl-like in person with an opaline silver finish. In some lights, the dial even seems to sparkle slightly. This warm white centrepiece pairs its case with applied rose gold-plated indices with Superluminova inserts and gold-plated skeletonised Superluminova-filled hour, minute and seconds hands. A small rounded date window, coloured in same silver opaline, also appears at 4:30H.
The case of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze watch follows suit to previous releases in the BR 03-92 Diver Bronze family with a 42mm by 42mm square-shaped case crafted almost entirely from bronze. Just in case you’re new to bronze watches, the case here will develop its own patina over time, changing in colour and texture as the material reacts to your skin. Ultimately, there will be 999 limited edition pieces of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze watch unique to their wearer. The screwed down case back is engineered from stainless steel while the screw in crown features a black rubber grip, protected by two bronze crown guards. There’s also sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment, a 300 metre water resistance and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a brown anodised aluminium insert and 60-minute scale.
The new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Bronze watch is powered by the familiar BR-CAL 302 automatic winding movement, based on the Sellita SW300, which provides hours, minutes, seconds and date function and a reasonable 38-hour power reserve. Finally, the design secures to the wrist by an interchangeable brown calfskin leather strap with contrasting cream stitching and a bronze pin buckle. With every order, you’ll also receive an additional black rubber strap.
