Back in 2017, the launch of the inaugural Montblanc Summit marked a new era of luxury men’s wearables combining traditional Swiss manufacture with cutting-edge technology. Over the years, we’ve watched as the Summit watch has evolved, revealing improved battery life in the Summit 2, a larger display in the Summit 2+ and more streamlined aesthetics in the Summit Lite. Now we’re here to introduce to you the next generation Montblanc smartwatch with the Summit 3 collection…
Montblanc have always been generous in their offerings of styles and the new Summit 3 smartwatch collection is no different. At the moment, we have three Montblanc Summit 3 watches to choose from all engineered from a combination of lightweight titanium and stainless steel and secured by leather and rubber straps. The first under reference MB129268 opts for an uncoated titanium case with a matching uncoated steel bezel, steel crown and pushers and a black cowhide leather band. The second MB129267 model is the most contemporary of the trio, electing a black coated titanium and steel architecture also fastened by a black leather strap. Lastly, reference MB129269 boasts a gorgeous bi-colour case which includes a black coated bezel and pushers and uncoated case and crown. This edition is completed by a green leather strap.
The cases of the Montblanc Summit 3 watches maintain much of the same spec as their predecessors with a 42mm diameter, 14mm height and a 50 metre water resistant rating. All three editions also come with an additional black rubber strap which can be easily swapped around for different occasions. For the display, sapphire crystal glass protects an AMOLED screen which measures in at 1.28 inches and offers a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels.
Arguably the biggest improvement to the Montblanc Summit 3 watch is the introduction of the Wear OS by Google 3.0. The operating system was unveiled just over a year ago and until now had only been featured in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. This smartwatch disappointed many iPhone users since it was not iOS compatible and led many to believe that all Wear OS 3 smartwatches would not cater to iPhone owners. However, we’re pleased to say that the Montblanc Summit 3 watches are iOS compatible and promise a 30% increase in performance, slicker animations, increased loading time for apps and an improved battery life.
Alongside its new operating system, the Montblanc Summit 3 watches deliver the same mass of smartwatch features as before including a heart rate monitor, Pulse Ox sensor, distance tracking, NFC payment, preloaded activity profiles, Wi-Fi connectivy, barometer, accelerometer, integrated microphone and much, much more. You will also find the four Montblanc-designed apps unveiled in the Summit Lite which include the Cardio Coach, Body Energy app, Sleep Tracker and Stress app.
The Cardio Coach app gives you personalised workout recommendations based on your current fitness level calculated by your VO2 max. Alongside live coaching advice, the app keeps track of your progress and adjusts according to your development. Meanwhile, the Body Energy app tracks your mental and physical exhaustion to show your current energy level. For days when your energy is low, the Montblanc Summit 3 watch will notify you and suggest a rest day. As you’d expect, the Sleep App tracks your sleep when you wear the Montblanc Summit 3 to bed. It will give you a detailed analysis of the length and quality of your sleep as well as how long you found yourself in certain sleep stages Lastly, the Montblanc Stress App tracks physical and mental stresses at any given time and gives you advice on when you might need to slow down and take a breather.
