Exploring Meistersinger Watches

Jewellery & Watch News

The one brand we love introducing to our customers is Meistersinger. This extraordinary German watch manufacturer has an unshakeable belief in the strength of simplicity with its highly creative designs that tell the time with just a single hand. Adored by lovers of the unique, Meistersinger watches genuinely offer something to watch collectors that is rare to find anywhere else. Their high quality and well-thought out designs provide a relaxed approach to timekeeping and we will explain just how you read the time on Meistersinger watches in this feature.

The derivation of the single-handed watches of Meistersinger come from our world’s first timekeeping instruments like the sundial and hourglass. These simple and primordial designs are reflected in each Meistersinger watch through a non-fussy dial and a singular hand which points to one of the 144 markers. Each marker represents 5 minutes so if the hand is pointed to the first marker after the 7, that would read 7:05. In the image below, you can see some more examples of Meistersinger dials and the times displayed beside them.

Meistersinger watches were first founded by Manfred Brassler back in 2001. He was driven by a desire to create a range of alternative watches that showed time as something constantly racing forward but he knew that through the inspiration of historical single-hand clocks he would keep the dials practical and easy to read for optimal use. Each Meistersinger watch continue to be assembled within the Westphalian city of Münster, the very place the brand was originally founded. Alongside German design, the timepieces showcase only the finest Swiss made watch calibres renowned for their high precision and accuracy.

Let’s take a look at the Meistersinger watch collections in more detail…
