Associated with love for thousands of years, rose quartz is gifted for five-year wedding anniversaries. However, the Egyptians also incorporated rose quartz into jewellery to promote anti-aging.
Sometimes the inclusions within rose quartz can produce a striking six-ray star effect on the stone, particularly if cut as a cabochon. Rose quartz has been found in Brazil, Madagascar, India, Mozambique, Namibia, Sri Lanka and the USA.
