Coquina

Coquina is a unique and fascinating rock, composed almost entirely of shells, fossil fragments and sand. The name ‘Coquina’ derives from the Spanish for ‘cockle’ and ‘shellfish.’ This limestone is sourced from the most northerly point of the beautiful, tropical Island of Barbados in the Southern Caribbean is an ancient sea cave known to both locals and travellers alike as ‘Animal Flower Cave’.
