Bauxite

Bauxite is a pure white material, which has a highly vitreous lustre when polished. Bauxbite is an aluminium ore, formed from gibbsire, boehmite and diaspore. This material looks fabulous in jewellery, and is named after the French village of Les Baux, where it was initially recognised.
