Ammonite

Ammonites are the fossilised shells of extinct marine animals. These fossils are 150 million years old. The name ammonite derives the Egyptian God Ammon who wore a pair of similarly spiralled rams horns.

These fascinating fossils can be cut and mounted in Gold and Silver to make eye-catching jewellery. The fossilised coiled ammonite shells are found in Dorset and North Yorkshire limestone areas.
