About Messika Jewellery

Masters of the moving diamond, the Messika jewellery brand has taken over the industry with their legendary Messika Move collection, a series which sees diamonds suspended as if in the air, trailing elegantly up and down their gold settings with every movement of the body. If you’re here looking to purchase your own piece of Messika jewellery, but you’d like to learn a little more about the Parisian jewellery brand first, keep reading…

A Brief History of Messika

When she was just a young girl, Valérie Messika was introduced to the luxurious world of diamonds by her father, Andre Messika, a prominent diamond dealer. As she grew up, she would watch her father play with diamonds, twisting them around his fingers as if the gemstones were dancing and it was this image, the image of a moving diamond that inspired the beginning of the Messika jewellery brand. In 2005, Messika was founded in the fashion capital of the world, Paris, launching its inaugural collection known as the Messika Skinny. The Messika Skinny Bangle was characterised by its ultra-slim and highly flexible design which looked breathtaking stacked up the wrist.

Shortly after, the Messika Move jewellery collection was launched in 2007. Each Messika Move necklace, ring, bracelet and earring has one thing in common: it features at least one diamond suspended between 18 carat gold as if it were floating. Then with each movement of the body, the diamond gracefully slides up and down the gold, creating a sense of fluidity and glamour. Ever since, the Messika Move jewellery collection has remained the fine jewellery brand’s best-selling line.

The Messika Jewellery Collections

Since its their best-selling design, the Messika Move jewellery collection is filled with an abundance of gorgeous sub-collections to tailor to every style and personality. The Messika Move Uno is one of the most minimalistic and easy wearing collection since, as its name suggests, features just a single diamond encased in oblong settings of gold. Meanwhile, Messika Move Noa jewellery takes its name from one of Valérie Messika’s daughters, embodying her playful and confident spirit with pave set ribbons of gold set with three floating diamonds at the centre.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Messika Move jewellery collection, the Parisian company launched the Move 10th jewellery line in 2017. These iconic designs hark back to the original pieces, electing simple 18ct gold cases and three floating diamonds suspended within. These necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings are particularly great for layering and creating your own personalised look. Messika also boasts a range of jewellery not part of their Move family like the Messika Gatsby collection. This series takes inspiration from the Art Deco period and the graphic minimalism of the jewellery worn during this era. There’s also Messika My Twin jewellery which is characterised by two large diamonds which curve towards the other in a symbol of united love. Each design features a pear-cut diamond facing an emerald cut diamond.
