About B.R.M Watches

Since BRM watch manufacture was founded in France in 2003 it has worked exceptionally hard to segregate itself from competitors in the industry. Synonymous with individuality and crafted in limited numbers only, each BRM watch is a collector’s piece, imbued with bold colours, sharp, dynamic lines and a masculine style. BRM manufacture was founded in 2003 and marked by its first release, the GP 44 which symbolised experimentation and the adventurous spirit behind the company. In just less than two decades the company had built global relationships and cemented itself firmly on the wrists of elite motorsport racers and professionals, achieving a presence in over 20 countries. BRM watch company was founded by Bernard Richards who focussed on the excellence in detail, applying his own skills and knowledge in watchmaking into his very own racing inspired collection.

Bernard Richards took two years to experiment and research the timepieces that would soon bear his own label. After launching his first chronograph watch he opened up a headquarters in Paris and began combining nano technology with hands on assembly. Over the years BRM has built several partnerships with important bodies in the motorsport industry and creating a vast array of unique looking timepieces. In 2014 the watchmaker entered a new era in manufacture, creating its first jewellery line and a set of four revolutionary timepieces to celebrate its 10 year anniversary. Since then, BRM watches have continued to be inspired by the luxury motorsport industry.

Bernard Richards crafts his timepieces in great secrecy in his Paris atelier. From independently manufactured hands, cases and push pieces to the pin buckles of its straps, all aspects of the external design are entirely authentic while the movement of every BRM watch is constructed in France or Switzerland. BRM watches are renowned for having some of the most complex appearances. The little information known about how they come to be the finalised, perfectly designed mechanical timepieces they are remains a somewhat mystery, adding to their charm. The concept of luxury to Bernard Richards is considered present in the finer details of his work. The smaller examples of attention to detail. The meticulous hand finishes and machine driven final touches.

The sperate machining of each component results in a timepiece that is difficult to replicate. Because all separate parts are assembled individually at BRM, it enables for complex colour combinations to be achieved. Black titanium cases, for example, with polished stainless steel lugs. Whereas a standard case may only have two or three separate parts, BRM watches are complexities made up of around 18 individual components. As a result, BRM watches take approximately 12 times longer to manufacture than other companies, hence each timepiece only being developed in a small quantity.
