Georg Jensen Weft Collection | Woven in Silver
The Weft collection is Georg Jensen's newest jewellery family — and one of the most technically distinctive pieces of silversmithing the house has produced in recent memory. Born from a single strand of sterling silver wire, a detail that recurs throughout Georg Jensen's archival jewellery and hollowware since the house was founded in 1904, Weft translates the ancient craft of weaving into a thoroughly modern form of personal adornment.
Each piece in the collection is built on a deceptively intricate process: individual silver links are twisted by hand, hooked together one by one, and secured by an internal chain that runs through them. The result is a construction that is at once entirely visible and deeply considered — an open architecture that exposes the meticulous craft behind it rather than concealing it. There is a deliberate tension in the finished pieces between strength and fragility, rigidity and movement, that gives the Weft jewellery a quality unlike anything else in the Georg Jensen collection.
The Weft range spans necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in sterling silver, each available in single, double, or triple link configurations that allow the wearer to calibrate precisely how much presence they want on the wrist, neck, or ear. The pieces work as standalone statements and layer naturally with one another — the slim necklace worn alone has an entirely different character to the double-link version worn together with it. Design references are drawn from the Georg Jensen archive: the silver wire that appears in storied hollowware and the hallmark bead applied to the house's precious metal pieces both find their way into the Weft DNA, connecting a contemporary collection to more than 120 years of Scandinavian silversmithing heritage.
Designed by the Georg Jensen Design Studio, the Weft collection is available to shop at Georg Jensen boutiques and online, with pieces ranging from £350 for earrings to £1,400 for the Triple Link Bracelet.
