About Reservoir Watches

Reservoir watches are -known for their offbeat take on watchmaking. Inspired by all things mechanical and a fascination for precision timekeeping, the company which was first founded in 2015, combines Swiss performance with boundless style. The company develops timepieces that take design cues from the world of motor racing, giving each design a sporty yet technical presence on the wrist. Nestled in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland - Reservoir creates watches based on old measuring instruments including fuel, oil volt and temperature gauges, as well as speedometers and tachometers. Each timepiece is based on Reservoir’s functional and original concept, offering a unique way to tell the time. Craftsmen work diligently to create these unusual looking wristwatches, using reliable ETA Swiss movements as the beating heart of each timepiece.

Each Reservoir watch has a sporty and adrenaline infused design that appeals to both lovers of mechanical wristwatches and motor racing inspired designs alike. The models are injected with bold touches of colour and have been crafted from a selection of robust materials for promising longevity on the wrist. In the design of each Reservoir watch, the single hand on the dial jumps back every 60 seconds. This reiterates the significance of the passing of each hour. These radical timekeeping displays enable every wearer to enjoy and fully appreciate every passing minute of the day, seizing each second and simultaneously embracing a sense of luxury. Not every watch collector can appreciate the rarity of the jumping hand and the complexity behind the mechanism. The hand needs to jump back precisely on the hour and the mechanism needs to accumulate power before releasing it in one swift movement but without any bounce. At the same time, the mechanism must prove no hinderance to the performance of the movement itself.

As well as motorsport inspired timepieces from Reservoir’s catalogue, the company also pays homage to the world of aviation and diving, with models such as the Hydrosphere and Airfight. The Swiss made ETA 2824 2 movement has been widely utilized by Reservoir, especially since it offers a useful power reserve of 37 hours and an intense performance of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The engine is chosen for its reliability and its high performance, comprising a total of 124 components and often showcased through the back of a sapphire crystal glass feature.

Despite the company’s relatively short history, Reservoir has launched a healthy range of collections spanning from marine watches to aviation watches to motorsport wristwatches. The case sizes, styles and features vary from one model to the next, offering every type of collector a broad range to choose from. Smaller wrists may benefit from Reservoir watches measuring the more compact 39mm while broader wrists may carry the larger 45mm case sizes better.

Reservoir watches from the Airfight and Aeronautics collection are distinctly different from other models within the brand’s catalogue and feature indexes around the edge of the track, identified in five minute increments as opposed to hours. The bottom half of the dial of the watches go without the presence of the indexes altogether and instead offer a large, legible date aperture. The clear power reserve display featured on Reservoir pilot’s watches also adds a dynamic touch to each design, while watches from the Reservoir Cars collection understandably boast dashboard inspired features on their displays.

Reservoir Hydrosphere watches are submersible timepieces inspired by scuba diving pressure gauges. Features like a double scale, a unidirectional rotating bezel, screw down crown and helium escape valve equip the diver with everything he needs for exploring deep depths underwater. These functional and confident luxury watches for diving also feature power reserve indicators for keeping track of the remaining energy of the automatic movement lying within. In addition to this, Reservoir also offers a range called the Longbridge watch collection. These timepieces appeal to those in search of a refined dress watch and feature cases crafted from 18ct gold and palladium. Here, jumping seconds, retrograde minutes and power reserve displays combine with classic leather straps to complete a timeless Reservoir watch for pairing with formal, elegant or professional attire alike.
