Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was the eighth studio album by the Beatles, spending an incredible 27 weeks at number one in the UK charts. Today, the album still stands as one of their best, so we were incredibly excited when Raymond Weil unveiled the commemorative watch at this years Baselworld event. A lot of thought has gone into the design of not only the watch but the packaging for the Raymond Weil Maestro Beatles Sergeant Peppers Limited Edition, which becomes evident when you compare them with the cover of the Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
The dark grey dial makes the perfect centrepiece to the design featuring the famous black Pepper drum outline in the centre with yellow gold electroplated details around the edge. The Beatles logo is also added to the dial at 6 o’ clock alongside a special index at 4 o’clock. The exhibition back also gives us a preview of the RW4200 self-winding movement which equips the watch with classic hour, minute and seconds function and a power reserve of 38 hours.
The case itself measures to 40mm in size and is crafted from yellow gold plated stainless steel and fitted with sapphire crystal glass. The strap on the Raymond Weil Maestro Beatles 2019 Sergeant Peppers Limited Edition watch is the very first from Raymond Weil to be made from Vegan leather, something that was incredibly important to band member Paul McCartney who has overseen every Raymond Weil Beatles watch that has been produced.
