Introducing Bamford Watches

Jewellery & Watch News

Another new member to the C W Sellors family is Bamford watches. This unique British watch manufacturer is still relatively new to the industry, but they have quickly found success with a unique concept that involves customising luxury watches with grade black titanium coating. They have worked with brands like TAG Heuer, Zenith and Rolex to customise watches so that they boast highly scratch resistant and visually stunning designs that are completely unique to the owner.

George Bamford, the founder and genius behind the Bamford Watch Company, became an avid watch collector at a young age with an obsession for rare watches with unique designs. On his eighteenth birthday, to his delight he was gifted a Rolex Daytona watch, but his excitement soon faded when he realised that several of his friends also owned the exact same watch. With such a passion for individuality, George took it upon himself to apply a DLC coating to the watch. The result was breathtaking and it was then that George decided to start the Bamford Watch Department.

Alongside the customisation of other watch brands, the Bamford Watch Department has been releasing their own collections of Bamford watches. The idea for the first Bamford watch came from the temporary ‘service’ watches that customers were given when they submitted their watches in for in-house servicing. George Bamford found that many clients were becoming attached to these watches and asked to purchase them for their own collection. This is when he knew it was time to take the step and begin manufacturing his own range of Bamford watches.

Today we will be looking at all the current collections of Bamford watches that have been redefined for greater, everyday use. From Bamford GMT watches to Bamford Mayfair, Date and Sport watches, you can find all the latest timepieces from the brand on our website.

Bamford Mayfair Watches

The very first collection from Bamford is their Bamford Mayfair watches. This stunning range of stainless steel and DLC coated watches are designed after the original ‘service’ watch that Bamford customers had eagerly fallen in love with. These are the perfect entrance models for young watch collectors who want the quality and aesthetic of a luxury watch but don’t quite have the paycheck to get there yet.

There are a huge range of designs to choose from in the Bamford Mayfair watch collection with colourful dial options, DLC or titanium coating for the cases and a luxurious range of straps. But what we love most about the Bamford Mayfair watches is that they remain completely customisable, keeping the brand’s original ideology at their core. Most models also come with the Miyota Quartz Calibre 2035 hidden behind an engravable case back. The Bamford Mayfair watches currently retail at £425.

Bamford Mayfair Date Watches

The second round of their signature Bamford Mayfair watch is the Bamford Mayfair Date. Following the success of the first, they decided to take the design to the next level by adding a Swiss made Ronda 715 movement. As well as having a new date window feature at 3 o clock, the watch is made water resistant to 100 metres making it ideal for outdoor use.

Bamford Mayfair Date watches remain completely customisable, just like their predecessor, but their dial designs are sportier and give off a diver’s vibe that remind us a lot of Sinn diving watches Switching from rounded indices to oblong, the dials are busier but still come in a range of bold, bright colours. Bamford Mayfair Date watches currently retail at £500.

Bamford Mayfair Sport Watches

Perfectly designed for those that want to stand out from the crowd, the third installment from Bamford is the Bamford Mayfair Sport watch collection. These brightly coloured timepieces come in a variety of colours including green, orange, light blue, dark blue, red, white and yellow alongside a rubber strap of the same colour. They continue to boast 100 metre water resistant cases that are crafted from high impact polymer built around a durable steel core.

Like the first range of Bamford Mayfair watches, the Mayfair Sport are fitted with Miyota Quartz Calibre 2035 movements which equip the colourful dials with Superluminova hour and minute hands and a sleek seconds hand. The closed case back of each Sport watch is left blank, allowing you to engrave your own personalised text up to 10 characters. Bamford Mayfair Sport watches currently retail at £350, becoming the brand’s most affordable model.

Bamford London GMT Watches

Released at the end of last year, the Bamford GMT watch collection is their latest installment and is the first watch from the brand to boast a Swiss mechanical movement. Designed for modern-day travellers, the Bamford London GMT watch uses the Seillta GMT SW330-1 movement which uses a central hand and a rotating inner bezel (controlled by the second crown at 10 o clock) to track the second time zone.

Aside from still having a customisable design and colourful dials, Bamford have taken a new approach with the Bamford London GMT by bringing a 70’s style stainless steel case with a semi-cushion shape to the table fitted with a steel bracelet or textile strap. We really love the retro inspired aesthetic of this model as well as the incorporation of a brand new automatic movement, something that we know many luxury watch collectors will be pleased about. The Bamford London GMT watches currently retail at £1,100.
