Exploring Longines Watches

Jewellery & Watch News

It’s hard to argue with the success of Longines; with just one glance at their incredible collections of luxury watches it is impossible not to instantly fall in love. They have become must-have accessories for elegant women, sporty gentleman, watch collectors and pretty much anybody with a wrist! Now part of the Swatch Group, Longines has a rich history to prove their dedication and talent for luxury Swiss watch making.

The Longines watch factory has been located in Saint-Imier, Switzerland since its founding in 1832 and was originally established by Auguste Agassiz, brother of the famous naturalist Louis Agassiz. Alongside his two partners, Agassiz crafted and sold pocket watches and began to learn a lot about the intricate process of creating mechanical timepieces. Their strong devotion to tradition and performance remains today, with each and every Longines watch promoting the brand’s heritage through the famous winged hourglass logo.

Today we will be breaking down all the latest Longines watch collections to help you find the perfect model for you. From Longines Chronographs, to their incredible limited editions to Longines Equestrian, Conquest and Heritage models, there is a Longines watch out there for everybody.

Longines La Grand Classique de Longines Watches

Let’s start with the stunning La Grand Classique de Longines watch collection. This incredible range of sophisticated watches embodies the brand’s original creations back in the early 1900’s when their success was only just beginning. The slim profiles and sleek lugs makes the Longines La Grand Classique watches ideal for those who appreciate tradition and style.

There are both La Grand Classique watches for men and La Grand Classique for women available, with a variety of gorgeous designs to choose from. The La Grand Classique de Longines watches for men are kept simple and sophisticated with fine linked bracelets and subtly detailed dials while the La Grand Classique de Longines watches for women boast beautiful characteristics that make them the perfect accompaniment to any glamorous outfit with mother of pearl dials and diamond dot indices.

Longines Master Watches

Named the Master for a reason, the Longines Master watch collection combines the brand’s vast expertise with their long history of watchmaking. The range was first launched in 2005 and was designed to be the perfect illustration of the company’s ethos of providing only the most reliable movements beside luxury materials.

All Longines Master watches are fitted with Swiss made self-winding movements, with many models kitted out with amazing functions including chronographs, day and date windows, moonphase apertures and complete calendar complications. These make ideal timepieces for both men and women that find themselves constantly on the move and in need of a reliable, beautiful and striking accessory to help them on the way.

Longines Heritage Watches

The Longines Heritage watch collection is one of our favourites and is full to the brim with impeccable designs inspired by historic Longines models. This remarkable selection of special edition watches are a tribute to the pioneering spirit of the Longines designers, with vintage aesthetics combined with cutting edge technology for the modern day.

Longines Heritage watches are highly coveted by watch collectors and it is easy to see why with distinctive cases honouring the likes of vintage pocket watches to exceptional Longines Heritage diving watches that evoke historic underwater instruments. This year we were treated to the completely unique Longines Avigation Type A-7 1935 watch, a mesmerising piece that is period accurate to the pilot watches worn by U.S. Army pilots in the years leading up to World War II. If you are a fan of vintage looking watches, then the Longines Heritage watch collection is where you should look.

Longines Record Watches

For those in need of unbeatable accuracy, then look no further than the Longines Record watch collection. This stunning range of watches for men and women showcase Longine’s purest watchmaking tradition with all the automatic movements certified as a chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). This means that all watches are accurate to -4 to +6 seconds a day – an incredible feat by any means.

As well as boasting unbeatable movements, Longines Record watches are also presented in striking cases from stainless steel to rose gold and yellow gold.  We particularly love the blue dialled Longines Record with its sunray blue finish, Arabic numerals and sleek steel hands. We also can't take our eyes away from the two toned rose gold and steel models and their traditional dials decorated with Roman numerals.

Longines Equestrian Watches

For as long as we can remember, Longines has had an irrefutable connection to the world of equestrianism with their passion dating back to 1878 when they produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey on his mount. Then in 1912, Longines partnered up for the first time with an international jumping show competition and their involvement with equestrianism hasn’t stopped since.

The beautiful Longines Equestrian watch collection commemorates their relationship and involvement with the sport with designs that not only echo the sophisticated curves and shapes of the riding world but the elegance of the riders themselves. Most of the Longines Equestrian watches are beautifully detailed with curved lugs inspired by the shapes of stirrups, elegant buckles designed in the shape of a horse’s bit and luxurious leather straps that instantly remind us of jockey’s reins.
