Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition Watch Review

We’re pretty certain there is no partnership more British than Bremont and Jaguar. The pair have collaborated previously in the past to prove the extraordinary power of British manufacture. For 2019, they have combined their technical and design expertise to bring us this incredible Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition watch.

With only 300 pieces being made, this stunning piece commemorates Jaguar Classic restarting production of the iconic 1950’s D-Type race car. In 1995, the car manufacturer originally planned to build 100 D-types but in the end only 75 were finished. Now to fulfil the brand’s original ambition, they are engineering 25 new sports cars that will be exact to their historic counterparts and built to the authentic specifications as the original manager Lofty England and his engineers drafted in the 1950’s. Especially for fans of Jaguar, Ian Callum, Jaguar's Director of Design has also signed each leather wallet packaging for this Bremont Jaguar Limited Edition.

Just as we would expect in a Bremont Jaguar watch, this Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition watch boasts a stunning array of automotive inspired accents including traditional Jaguar style hour markers just like that found on a classic speedometer and a striking crown accented with the pattern of a Dunlop tyre track. The bold blue dial is a new addition to the Bremont Jaguar collection, with previous models dressed in black or white, with contrasting silver sub dials for small seconds and 30 minutes added at 3 and 9 o clock. A copy of the vintage Jaguar logo can also be seen towards the bottom of the dial.

Turn the Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition watch around and we are greeted to one more supercar totem. Through the sapphire crystal case back, you can see the striking oscillating rotor which has been shaped into the design of a Jaguar steering wheel. This rotor is part of the Bremont BE-50AE chronometer certified automatic movement which provides hour, minutes and small seconds, chronograph function, a date window at 6 o clock, a tachymeter timing function and a power reserve of 42 hours.

The case of the Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition watch measures to 43mm in size making it ideal for almost any size wrist. The case has been hardened using Bremont’s patented Trip-Tick construction and paired with a scratch resistant DLC treated case barrel. Just like the back, the front glass is made from sapphire crystal and coated in an anti-reflective treatment for easy legibility. The piece is finished by a sophisticated blue Jaguar leather strap with perforated racing details, white stitch detailing and a stainless steel pin buckle.

Just like the 25 Jaguar D-Type supercars being released, we have full faith that this Bremont Jaguar D-Type Limited Edition watch will sell out fairly quickly. To get your hands on one of the 300 pieces being released this month, click here or contact us on 01335 453453.
