Breitling are no strangers to the world of aviation and to secure their position further as one of the leading manufacturers of aviation timepieces, they have released a brand new collection of Breitling Aviator 8 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watches. With three new models in total, the new range of Breitling watches commemorate a partnership with the makers of the iconic P-40 Warhawk plane.
Instantly recognisable for being one of World War II’s most famous fighter planes, the P-40 Warhawk was an American single-engined, single-seated aircraft used right up until the end of the war. It was the third most-produced American fighter plane of WWII with some Warhawks painted with the famous "shark mouth" logo on the nose. Breitling have drawn inspiration from this magnificent machine and created two chronographs and one three-hand model designed in the same military green colour.

The first timepiece in the collection is the Breitling Aviator 8 B01 Chronograph 43 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch. This stunning edition is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01, the brand’s in-house mechanical movement which delivers a remarkable power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It’s COSC-certified status also demonstrates its incredible accuracy while its bidirectional rotating bezel and chronograph function make it a must have for those who like the full aviation look. The sapphire crystal glass case back of the Breitling B01 Chronograph 43 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch is also beautifully printed with a special Curtiss inscription and an image of an airborne P-40 Warhawk plane.

Next up is the Breitling Aviator 8 Chronograph 43 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch, the second chronograph in the collection. This COSC-certified chronometer houses the Breitling Calibre 13, a powerful mechanical movement designed to equip the watch with hour, minute and central chronograph seconds, a sub seconds dial, 30 minutes chronograph counter, 12 hours chronograph counter and a day date window. It’s military green dial is given a matte finish just like that of the plane that inspired it while the same aircraft can be found decorating the steel closed case back alongside a special Curtiss inscription.

Last but certainly not least is the breathtaking three-handed Breitling Aviator 8 Automatic 41 Curtiss P-40 watch. Continuing to honour an aviation legend, this chronometer watch is decorated in the same military green but with a distinctive DLC coated stainless steel case measuring to 41mm. The watch is powered by the Breitling Calibre 17 mechanical movement which provides a power reserve of 40 hours, hour, minutes and seconds function and a date window at 6 o clock. Just like it’s brothers, this Breitling Aviator 8 Automatic 41 Curtiss P-40 watch also beautifully honours the P-40 plane with the inclusion of an engraving on the case back.
